We sat and were disgusted at his LA ass kissing b s as he announced the coronation of the Slippers. Pathetic and weird role, cheerleader for a team in a playoff game. Ask Matt Barnes what you can suck dude.
I must also add it's a Rockets curse TNT - You're stuck with in studio idiots like Shaq and Chuck and commentary buffoons like Reggie Miller ESPN - You're stuck with chimp's like "oh come on now when Rockets score" Hubie Brown or the dirty scumbag lowlife despicable Jon Barry
I've heard several other homer broadcasts and I still stand by my comment. It's natural for a Houston fan to be a little partial to their guys and tune out the amount of b****ing Bill and Clyde do during a game broadcast. It's so much easier to hear EVERYTHING else another broadcaster says doing color for another team. Trust me, Elliot, Heinsohn, et al...they aren't as bad as our guys. Maybe on par at times, but not as bad.
Like, I know I'm a homer. Big time. I really am one of the worst homers when it comes to watching my basketball team of now 40 years. But damn. I rewatched the 4th quarter, and this guy, who is paid a lot for color commentary, says really just about nothing during one of the most historical and brave comebacks in an elimination game that the league has seen in a while. There was so much that was worthy of comment or analysis (like the defensive efforts on Griffin and the new verve for rotations to the shooters), but he just gave off a depressive "wow..." occasionally. It was the "wow" of someone who returns from a tornado shelter to see their home leveled. "Oh, wow... (*holding back tears*)" If I'm the program director don't I have to ask myself "why are we paying this guy exactly?" Don't they watch the tapes to analyze the quality of the broadcast?
I silenced my tv at the end of the 3rd and turned it back up with a minute left. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to hear Barry crying.
