Agree with y'all saying $5M/yr (or higher, via that recent tweet) is crazy for Pierce at this point. I was posting about his advanced stats in the NBA Dish thread. But put yourself in his shoes, and $5M/yr would feel like a real insult. I'm sure he's closer to wanting twice that. Ray Allen has been productive in his late 30's, for sure, but he's kind of unusual as a wing player.
BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING MORE ABOUT PAUL PIERCE. PLEASE GO TO NBA.COM AND CHECK HIS STATS VERSUS THE EAST VS THE WEST. Y'ALL WILL BE SINGING A DIFFERENT TUNE. http://stats.nba.com/playerStats.html?PlayerID=1718&groupFeedtype=opp
Let's not go there....Pierce would be in casket right now, if they hadn't woke him up by talking trash..
Ariza did play well with the Wizards. Ask Washington fans. That is called a contract year. Pierce is probably on one too.
I can't even believe people are complaining about Ariza. Sure, he's been streaky as a 3 point shooter, but he's carried a massive load this year. He has played huge minutes every night, played every game and has been an absolutely stellar defender. He's not a star and he's not being paid like one. In my mind, he has far outplayed his contract. And there are LOTS of teams who would love to add him.
