Kawhi missed too many games to get the award.

    Correction: You can't.

That should tell you all you need to know about your level of ignorance and/or lack of articulation.

Big "Ifs," but imagine if Hibbert was still as good now as he was in 2013, teamed with a healthy George and Sugar K.

    Dominate the East.

I thought Green should have won it, he can shut down all five positions.

But you can't go wrong with Leonard.

Wonder what she will say when Curry wins MVP over Harden. Can't have it both ways.

All these contest are belong to popularity.

Does context not matter? Dude plays 70% of the game. He's part of their starters 5 man units. Their bench plays better D vs. the other teams benches. Stats need context. It's great to have, but if you're conclusion is that "The Clippers are a better defensive team without DeAndre Jordan" then you have an ignorance of both statistics and basketball.

Kawhi the next Future HOFer? That's a crazy stat, I don't watch enough spurs ball to say if he's a beast or not, but that spin move fake on Reddick last night was too sick. Wonder where he goes this off season

I can see that. Vote Steph and then say "let's not give everything to golden state, let's vote for others

Kawhi is a complete product of Spurs basketball. That's not to say he wouldn't be a great player outside of the Spurs. But for one, nobody would be saying "future HOF'er?" because he wouldn't have any awards. For two, as good as he is individually on defense, he wouldn't seem to be that good, because few teams have as good team defense as the Spurs consistently every year, which Kawhi benefits from. For three, his offensive game would be different, in a way that is worse. Either more absolute stats at much worse efficiency, or still learning to shoot and play offense.

AGAIN... this isn't me being a hater... it's just the obvious truth. Trade out Kawhi with MKG and the two have completely different paths at this point.
AGAIN... to be clear, Kawhi is as much a part of that Spurs system as he is a benefit of it. It's definitely reciprocal.

But he now has imo one of the least deserved Finals MVP awards and one of the least deserved defensive players of the year awards .... the later because of time missed.

Least deserved Finals MVP hmmm... Without him stepping up, they would have lost that series. Watch it again.

Um... I did watch it. The Spurs manhandled the Heat. OF COURSE, Kawhi was a big part of that. But they had like the biggest Finals winning margin ever. It was a "Spurs" win, from coaching on down. In retrospect, I'd still put money on the Spurs winning that championship if you replaced Kawhi with, say, Trevor Ariza for example.

He didn't exactly shut down Lebron. Lebron had a great series. A really really great series. He was really good.

Kawhi was arguably the best Spurs player that series. He won the MVP. And that's OK. So maybe "least deserved" isn't the right phrasing, but least impressive certainly is.

Maybe Harden does have a chance to win over Curry. The Warriors being the best team in the league and not winning any awards might make a bigger story then Curry just winning it.

    When do they announce MVP?

Jordan could still work on some defensive fundamentals for sure. He's dangerous because he is so tall, lengthy, and athletic. For those reasons only he becomes a defensive anchor.

Their overall defensive is something I didn't know before. I thought for sure it would be higher than 15 but now that I think about it the Clippers are quite keen on having a high octane offense with finding quick lobs, outlets, and fast breaks....I would assume largely because of Chris Paul manning the attacks

But anybody that knows basketball knows that DeAndre is a spectacular defensive presence that is the envy of most NBA teams that dont have a real center. Regardless of what sequences of advanced metrics you can find you tell you otherwise.
