McFail is all on Morey. You Morey slurpers are truly pathetic, giving Morey gloss for things he doesn't to and ignoring the fails he does.
Hey, you guys didn't hear, according to some on ClutchFans, McFail should be the coach of the year! What an asset!
McHale better think reeeeeeeal hard about whether he reeeeeeally wants to play Dorsey over Capela come playoff time
McHale has a hard time thinking. He is dumb as a rock and he will continue to play Dorsey over Capela because he is that much of an idiot.
This guy is such a joke. He's employing hack-a-biyombo against this scrub team. SMH he seriously can't think for himself.
55 wins baby!! Most player games lost to injury. Congrats!! to Team and coaching staff on an excellent job. This has been one of the most enjoyable regular seasons since the Rockets moved here from San Diego. Now, let's get home court.
Technically its better to do it when you are ahead. However, you probably should only do it when your team has its best scoring lineup on the floor. I believe when he did it, that unit was having a bit of trouble on that end, and turnover prone with Smith being the lead facilitator essentially. Biyombo was a good candidate to employee this method on but I just didn't see the stakes high enough, and I didn't see the Hornets having such an unstoppable offense that you needed to do such. You really just needed to play better on defense. That's it. You didn't have a James Harden on their team that you were trying to the ball out of their hands. The Hornets are a totally stoppable team.
The other consideration is that the hack strategy allows your squad to "get back on defense" aka prevent easy transition buckets. I don't remember who was on the floor but Josh Smith is particularly guilty of lazy transition defense.
That sounds like a coaching problem, and also the Hornets are not a fast breaking team. How you can't get back on defense to prevent the Hornets from scoring is beyond me. Hacking Bogut for the Warriors when Curry and Thompson are starting to heat up isn't the worlds worst idea. You aren't going to stop their offense, but you can gamble that Bogut will go 2 of 8. Hacking Biyombo in order to stop Kemba Walker and Troy Daniels is inexcusable. How little trust do you have in your defense if it comes to that point?
To put things into perspective. If every offensive possession was a hack a someone. Hitting just 55% would produce a historically great offense.
So... what you are saying is... against a team that: A. plays at a pace that ranks 20th in the league, B. with an offensive rating of 28th in the league, C. Whose best offensive option (Jefferson) is hurt, and D. when you have a top 10 rated defense in the league Hacking a 57% free throw shooter is probably not the greatest coaching decision in the world??
Depends on what your goals are. McHale could simply have noticed his guys were winded and wanted to give them a breather. Or perhaps he wanted to share an observation with his guys but didn't want to burn a timeout. Maybe he was even illustrating what it could look like if we got Deandre Jordan in the playoffs and he wanted to give his guys a few run throughs of the motions. Maybe he was trying to kill momentum. Who knows? Who cares? It doesn't matter, we don't have all the information. We rarely ever have all the information. Hence why it's makes little sense for our fans throw temper tantrums. Let's just call a spade a spade here. Most of our fans are idiots. and seemingly the dumber they are, the louder and more frequently they scream.
