Really really really good defense vs Really really really old alternatives.

Love it. Simple common sense logic for the win.

i agree what is it with everyone on this team missing at the line (except for harden and ariza and pablo) but look at the FT% even Jason Terry is below 80% lowest in his career not counting last year when he only played 35 games.

I see McHale giving him more opportunities to show he can play when the games matter. If he can start giving any offense to go along with good defense he will be seeing a lot of time once the playoffs start

As expected he isnt that polished on O yet, his D looked good even though he got lost on a couple rotations. Both will get better with time and more pt.

Nick 'Big Dick' Johnson is ready, though he needs to hit a 1000 threes a day starting now until the play-offs!!

I wonder what it is that Nick 'Flaccid' Johnson has done that would make someone say he is ready.

The kid's gotta grow up fast. He needs minutes with all of the most used line ups before the season ends.

I'm fine with giving him more playing time, but he certainly hasn't earned a starting spot yet.

The dude was hounding John Wall, aka the fastest guy in the league, and succeeding. He is playing like he never wants to back to the RGV. I'm in, more Nick Johnson.

For those complaining about his offense, did you forget that in the previous game, he was inserted near the end of the second quarter and scored almost immediately? And he did a phenomenal job drawing fouls for a rookie, although he didn't cash in on those. Clearly, his offensive game isn't there yet, but give him a couple games to get comfortable and let's see how he does. There's no reason to trash one of our own while he's still becoming acclimated to the league and the team.

There is a large gap between "trashing him" and saying he should be our starter. Note that Sam Cassell didn't start for the Rockets either. Give Nick some more play time off the bench and see what he does with it, but so far he hasn't earned a starting spot. Not saying he never will, but he isn't there yet.

All we need is a point guard who can pass it to the high post for Harden to run his pick and roll, and play solid enough defense to at least slow down the opposing point guard.

If Nick can do that, he should be the first off the bench.

I'm (almost) certain most aren't actually petitioning for him to start. The thread title was just a knee jerk reaction after Bev went down. However, there are far too many in this thread belittling Nick's performance.

Perhaps backup to the backup. Prigioni is the backup.
