Jose Calderon's .980 FT% single-season FT record Next closest is Murphy at .958. Only five players have shot >95% also, Micheal Williams 97 FTs in a row has lasted 22 years. Next closest was Calderon with 87.
are they really thinking about shortening the regular season? i thought they were leaning towards getting rid of some of the preseason games and stretching the season out another month so there are less back to backs. haven't heard anything about reducing the 82 games though. interesting though, if they keep it at 82 but played over a longer period of time some of these actually will have a better shot at being broken
me too. I thought it was about spreading 82 games over more days to eliminate (or drastically reduce) back-to-backs. That's a lot of money to give up to close your doors for 10 games or so.
it's in the quote of mine that you posted. And note that the man who came 10 FTs short (which isn't really that close) has the other record I said won't be broken anytime soon: Calderon shot 151 out of 154 FTs in a season once, shattering the single-season FT% record. If he couldn't do it, then it just shows that it is a very hard record to break.
John Stockton's assist record is really tough to break. The guy played 19 years in the NBA average over 10 assists per game, and he never got hurt. The only person who might have a slight/tiny/remote shot is Chris Paul. At 29, he's got 6,736 assists... that's 9,000 less than Stockton. And we don't see any pass-first point guard on the horizon in college or high school. So the answer is NO. At least not in the next 10 years.
Why do you say that? It is the official record The qualifier for FT% is 125 FTs made. He beat that by 26.
He definitely has a headstart on Hakeem, but Davis still hasn't had a season average higher than Hakeem's career average.
Actually, the record is 8 in 11 by Reggie Miller in the playoffs. Winning a playoff series is important. This is what Miller thinks of Tmac
Add his longevity to the fact that the Jazz scorekeepers were notoriously liberal with his stats and nah, it's never being broken.
