But it's not 1 of 30. It's not like he's going to get offers from Indy, Seattle, Green Bay, etc . . . How many teams are actually so desperate at QB that they'd be willing to throw stupid money at Mallett to make him their starter? It's a small handful. Right now it's really only Buffalo and maybe the Rams. Tampa is going to draft Winston most likely. If the Titans want a QB, they'd probably rather draft Mariota than pay for Mallett. And the Redskins and Jets might be holding out hoping for Mariota in the draft too. I don't think any of those teams would really pony up for Mallet until after the draft. And yes, the Browns signed McCown. The Browns also happened to be one of the few teams who might've been interested in throwing money at Mallett and now they aren't. One less option for him. EDIT: And as I type that, the Bills trade for Cassel. It's not completely out of the question, but seems less likely that Buffalo makes a play for Mallett now. I just really don't see another team being as interested in Mallett as the Texans. And it seems like almost all of the teams that could be interested have either already acquired other QBs or are positioned to get one in the draft.

And now the dominoes begin to fall, it was a pretty obvious move, he's no longer as effective as he once was and we save 6 million by cutting him
No but he's an aging player with diminishing skills that's nowhere near worth his contract, the last time we talked about cutting one of those guys everyone went crazy.
Seriously seeing Andre in a Colts jersey would be horrible. I don't care what he's got left in the tank or what he would contribute to them...just the look itself would be bad. Chris Meyers was a good player here and he has more than overplayed the 6th rounder they gave up to get him. Thanks for the good work all these years Chris.
one of the biggest concerns i have is making deandre our primary receiver... he's still young and made some crucial mistakes in games last year... sure AJ made mistakes, but with our uncertainty at QB, you want to give the QB all the help he can get... no other receiver imo can do that for him other than AJ
Hopkins was the 2nd most surehanded WR in the NFL, Andre was a decent possession receiver. I honestly don't understand the fear of passing the torch to the better (current) player.
I would be surprised if it weren't. This was needed folks... I am very happy about it. Do wish Myers and Dre well though obviously. Model citizens and great players for this organization.
