I think in this sense, he doesn't revolve his life around the Rockets because he wouldn't sacrifice anything else than his personal time for the Houston Rockets. Let's all calm down yo.
I would eat a moist tender brisket sandwich slathered in bbq sauce From last year left out on a table.
nothing, it would mean nothing to me if I had to do something for the team to win, that takes the excitement out of the whole experience. The entire point of sports is you don't know what's going to happen and it's extremely rewarding when you win at the end. it's like why would I watch a movie if I can just alter the ending to whatever I want
dachuda with some weird posts, just because someone is on CF and spend like half an hour per day one CF doesn't mean his life revolves around this team. Heck, I haven't even watched a Rockets game for like two months and am here, doesn't mean jack. Many people are here mostly for the hangout and all the people they've known for years.
You are mistaken what fans would and should do. We are not the mafia but most of us are simply citizens. The most realistic is give up half of our valuable possessions (that is a lot to ask for) Winning a championship depends on people that are out of a fan's reach. 99.9% of NBA teams fail every year to win a championship. It has something to do with having a Top 2 team (to be in the Finals) and fate on your side in the Finals.
Do you understand the meaning of revolving life around something? Making time for someone/something does not make it the center of my universe
A championship assured by wizardry would always appear with an asterisk. It's bad enough to have one that always brings out the "but Jordan wasn't playing".
I don't even think it's a line, more of a chasm. To answer the question: I do have some chickens running around, and Jobu is hungry.
On dachuda's weird sidebar: I post here because it's a fun, active community with a lot of opinions. The Rockets are not my #1 most-watched sports team (basketball is my 2nd favorite sport). On the OP's question: I would not cut off my fingers, etc for a championship. The fact that so many people take it personally when their team doesn't win a championship (which is an extremely rare and unrealistic goal) is why there is so much vitriol on sports message boards. It's like expecting to win the lottery. It would be foolish to base my life around that chance. It's secondary. In the end, we're paying ever-increasing amounts of money to be entertained for a couple hours by a bunch of genetic freaks competing under an arbitrary system of rules designed by a commissioner-dictator whose main goal is increasing the amount of money.
Some weird math here. There are only 30 NBA teams and yet 99.9% fail every year to win? I would go get a refund from whichever school you went to.:grin:
