I know such complex thoughts are a stretch for you... I clearly stated his thinking was outdated... Just like Wallace's. But please continue to represent Thomas as a forward thinker... helps maintain the conservative position regarding race.
How did this article show that he is the most influential thinker on race relations? It just says it and then describes his positions. Did I miss something in the article that wasn't pasted into the original post?
i'm not sure if you missed something. Personally for me though, I have heard countless people refer to Thomas' opinions pertaining to race in this country. it shapes our lives, not only in an average american families daily conversation, but really in our day to day actions. he does not do a ton of writing, but we all know what Thomas is thinking, it is HIGHLY influential.
Correct. In the past, the conservatives would have rushed Ward Connerly out as their "influential" person on race, since he was very visible in fighting affirmative action in California. He seemed to have lost favor with conservatives though... don't know if it was the result of allegations of financial misdeeds or his support of gay marriage.
Too bad Thomas throughout his career and Williams in this article didn't really have a point on which to begin.
LMFAO Anything to erase the guilt felt by white Repiblicans over the last 60 years... Good luck with that Elbert!
There is an infinitesimally small percentage of people who have the ability to do so. I would bet everything I have that bigpuffery isn't one of them.
It couldn't be the 100 years of institutionalized disenfranchisement post abolishment of slavery where African Americans attended segregated schools that receive as little as ten percent of the funding of non-segregated schools that "destroyed" Black America... naw that's too simple of an explanation. It must be this "liberalism".
