It might. How many endorsements is he really going to get? Its Goran freaking Dragic, not Kevin Durant. The state tax advantage, the 7.5% vs 4% raises advantage, and the cost of living advantage could very well make up for any endorsement money lost.
Whatever it is, I hope we get a center and PG. Any of these 2-piece combos: Dragic/Lawson/Knight and Miles Plumlee/Henson
If Dragic is chasing money first, rings later, as cyberx said....then Houston makes perfect sense, even if he doesn't want to come here right now. He'll get his money here and have a chance at a ring.
agents want their clients to make as much money as possible...if goran comes here, then bev has to back him up, production and role drop and so does his stock, so he'll get lower offers this summer.
I really hope Morey finds a way to get either Jack, Burke or GHill ( I know he isn't being shopped) we need PG help in the worst way and all 3 of these guys IMO bring more than Bev. Especially Jack and Hill
If Dragic comes here, Bev goes to the bench. If Bev goes to the bench, his stats go down, meaning teams will offer him less as a free agent this summer. Meaning the agent gets less money from his cut of Bev's contract.
Congrats Dragic. You played with the Suns for 3 years @ 7.5 mil/year, the same Daryl offered. Only you have that top tier AZ state income tax of 4.5%, so you're a million dollars less rich. 1 million dollars, post-tax, in hundys, in a big suitcase. And it's not yours. Enjoy the trust issues.
Well I have only response to that... Spoiler Carl Herrera posts like an a-hole. ....just because you CAN do it, doesn't mean you should.
Bev starting and playing like a bench guy is whats going to hurt his earning potential if anything. He would probably look better coming off the bench and it would help him out in the long run. I'd say its doing wonders for Josh Smith right now
if he goes LA or NY and to lesser extent Miami he will be hyped and put in role of star. So endorsements will come in. Both cities are too thirsty for "stars"
