It's 57 degrees and the sun is out, beautiful winter day in Houston, Texas. Nothing on the trade front.
I don't have any reference point to say Codman is legit whatsoever. Cyber seemingly works for an agent, and while his information is legit in that he hears it, you also have to keep in mind the bias that his information is filtered through. Docrocket admitted today that he isn't an insider really anymore, just has "hearsay." His stuff has been spotty. He's closer than any of us, but by his own admission he's not that close.
....um, no. 20 games of Dragic and a really poor player we'd be stuck with at a couple of mil over the next few years for a blooming young 7 footer and a lotto pick? Not feeling you man.
So living in Phoenix we're preparing to get robbed for Dragic. What are you hearing as far as a return on a trade for him? Chad Ford: It's not going to be much. With that said, the Suns aren't totally to blame for all of this. They thought they'd be able to re-sign Dragic which is why they hung on so long. But they are also partly to blame. It was hard enough for Dragic to play with Eric Bledsoe ... but when they added Isaiah Thomas to the mix, it made the situation untenable for Dragic. That Thomas signing was one of the biggest head scratchers of the summer and now it's costing the Suns big time. As far as return ... Houston probably has the best package if they're willing to throw in that pick that the Pelicans owe them this year and a young big like Montiejunas or Terrance Jones. But it doesn't sound like he wants to play there. It sounds like Boston is getting involved and they do have some nice assets (picks + Brandon Bass) to offer. But I don't like the fit in Boston. Marcus Smart is their point guard of the future and long-term I think he's better than Dragic. The Kings are the team I like best as far as fit goes. And if the Suns could get Ben McLemore or Nik Stauskas and a future No. 1 ... I think that would be a great deal for both sides.
i would rather see this. You can have Lawson and IT tied up for a few years for about the same price has hoping that you get Dragic to sign for with all of the max contract rumors. That gives you much more assurance and flexibility while still making the team Championship contenders...if we don't have to give up too much for Lawson. His assists are top notch and would be great for this team also.
We're all waiting for Dragic but we'll probably get someone else and be underwhelmed. Brace yourselves and set your expectations fellas!
Do you think the Rockets could be helped by upgrading the PG position to a guy who is averaging 17ppg and 10 assists?
Nothing earth shattering but I just met someone within the Celtics organization and he told me that they are active at the deadline, looking to ship players for more picks. Marcus Thornton anyone?
