Congrats JJ. I can only hope we provide you with some help rushing the passer next season.

The irony is that despite all the hype, this isn't even JJ Watt's best year. That in retrospect, his 2012 season was grossly overlooked in the midst of Peterson's season. This year he's been a monster. But in 2012, he had arguably the best season of any defender to ever play the game.

    Congrats to JJ.

At least this time the clueless ESPN writer Ashley Fox voted for him.

That is why Tony Dungy was a coach and not a GM. Bobby Wagner, seriously?

Yes, it was. Possibly the best season by a defensive player in the history of the NFL.

Didn't Wagner also miss 5 games? LOL!

    Dungy is such a tool.

He was better in 2014 than in 2012. Numbers are pretty close, but Watt beat out his 2012 numbers in hurries and QB hits by a large margin. He was more dominating this season than he's ever been.

I love how Wagner gets a vote despite playing in just 11 games. Absolutely makes no sense and Dungy needs to have his vote taken away.

He didn't say he was a hof'er now, lol. He said that he would be a hall of famer.

Thats exactly why he thinks Wagner is a MVP candidate. "With his return he made a already pretty good defense even better!"

    Such flawed logic

If Watt has a similar or better season to this one and we make the playoffs, I think he'll win the MVP, unless a QB throws for like 55 touchdowns or something. All those games that we let slip away smh.

Watt is so much better than anyone else on defense, how many more can he win?

Watt led all players in Approximate Value (AV) with 24. This is the 4th highest total in league history. He also led the league in 2012 with 19.

    Highest single-season totals (All-Time)

    1. LaDainian Tomlinson (2006) 26

    2. Marshall Faulk (1999) 25

    ... OJ Simpson (1975) 25

    4. J.J. Watt (2014) 24

If he wins 2 more, he'll set the record for most in a career. And I can easily see him being in the conversation until his late 30s.
