Lmao. Were you even watching the game? He was boxing out a TON of posessions, leaving those rebounds for his teammates.

You have some pretty strange standards if you judge defense purely on defensive rebounding.

No way that's purely on one stats.

As I said in the game thread, Dmo had a nice game and was probably the guy playing the hardest on the floor for every run back.

But his overall defense still is an issue.

Don't forget he was pulled in that Mavs at the end and McHale went with TJ and Josh for defense purpose.

WTF are you talking about? His overall defense is very good. The only thing that he is not good at is rebounding, and this is because he try to box out most of the time.
Rockets team grabbed 39 rebounds tonight, and pistons 44. where is the problem?

/\ Good point. Rox were only slightly out-rebounded tonight by a very good rebounding team. When DMo boxes out Harden and Bev and Ariza and Smith get the rebounds.

Great offensively, but he along with everyone else tonight was soft on defense, c'mon DMo, we need more than 4 rebounds, he and TJones played soft defensively tonight, gotta rebound more.

DMo in last 5 games was extremely impressive:
    17.2 PTS, 7.2 REBS (2.8OFF), 57.8 FG%, 54.5 3P%, 30mins.

DMo is now officially a better 3PT shooter than Ariza.

    34.2% vs 32.5%

Dmo should be made the 2nd option, end of story. He is obviously an offensive powerhouse if he can go 10-13 against a frontline of Drummond and Monroe then there no stopping DMo unless you don't give him the ball.

Yeah the ref calls were horrendous, and the defense was subpar. But, the Rox didn't do themselves any favors by not giving the ball more to D-Mo, he should have gotten 15-20 shots. The Rox right now are extremely Harden-centric, and while that's not the worst thing in the world that makes us very limited because to be honest I see a lot of offensive sparkplugs in the team with Howard, Smith, Canaan, DMo, Kpap, Brewer etc these guys might not bring it on offensively everynight but there will be times they would be unconscious. Harden and Mchale have to be quick to realize who is on at any given night and give them the ball.

Ugh, I am happy for DMo, but that is putrid from Ariza.

Yeah. To be fair though, I think Ariza is shooting too much threes. 7 three-point attempts per game seems to be too much for him. He's not a Korver/Thompson type where he could shoot a ton and still maintain excellent percentages. I'd rather we trade one or two of those Ariza's 3pt attempts for a DMo's post-ups.

This is exactly why you have to have a top tier PG, as good a Harden is he is a 2 guard with a 2 guard's mentallity. Which is to get mines first. Nothing wrong that, it's what you want from your 2. Top Tier PGs on the other hand can get theirs at any point in the game but there priority is to find the hot hand every night make sure the team is exploiting matchups in the teams favor. To me this is what makes PatBev a backup. I don't see how we can sure that PG spot this with D12 now out for a month.

It will be interesting to see how this season plays out now. Can't move DMo at this point he is your best post player on offense and 2nd best offensive weapon on the team. Can't move Howard because he is hurt. I doubt that a team would take Tjones at this point for something significant.

This is a Harden oriented team.

The team dies and wins with him. Dmo has to replace him as alpha male in order to do so.

No, there doesn't need to be some Highlander "there can only be one" situation. As these guys mature and McHale (hopefully) pulls his head out and takes a look around, they'll realize they should take the path of least resistance to win games. Sometimes that will be Harden penetration. Sometimes it will be Josh Smith on the block.

But a lot of the time it will be and should be DMo. Against average and smaller sized 4s and 5s, put him on the low block to use his size and post skills. Against bigger ones, put him in the high post to use his speed and ball handling.

He should get far more possessions, especially late in the game. It should be our default, go-to option WHENEVER the offense bogs down.

"Oh we haven't gotten a decent shot in 4 possessions ? Dump it to DMo and let him score or pass out to an open shooter."

this is 101 *****. The good news is, we are a good team without playing this way. When they finally figure this out, we will get even better.

D-Mo needs to put a bit more sand in his pants to hang with the bigger centers in the league.

Monroe was abusing him last night.

Saying that, his improvement has been incredible and you could argue that he at times, is the second best player on this team.

 So how talented is this team? Not very.
