garden state 8.5/10 again really late on this one...but it was cheap so picked it up on the fly really dang good. great soundtrack, good story. dug it a lot
american sniper -7.6/10 like everyone, the fake babies bothered me. they could get a real dog but not baby? but it lives up to the hype. escobar,a paradise lost-5.2/10. Benicio's performance was outstanding, but the plot left a lot to be desired. it's like some bros were watching entourage and said, ' you know what would make a rad movie bros? A real unreal movie about escobar.'
predestination- 4/10. I thought it was forcing itself to be clever. it felt like edge of tomorrow and looper on ADD meds. I would tell future met to past me not to view this in present day.
The Imitation Game - 5/10 Interesting story, but didn't do a whole lot for me. The performances were overrated, IMO.
Everly- 6/10- high entertainment value. salma and her boobs in a night gown fending off waves of assassins while she is stuck in her apartment.
Yeah, I'm definitely in the minority, no doubt. Just didn't do it for me for some reason. Cumberbatch definitely was good, though.
Whiplash - Intense movie, really didn't think it'd hold my interest for 2 hours but it's fantastic. Simmons is awesome but Teller is just as good. - A
Boyhood 7.5/10 Good and interesting. Not life-changingly-awesome like I had hoped, but what I liked most was that it was believable. No cliche characters falling into the black and white stereotypes. The paths taken by the biological parents and kids are all reasonable and realistic. Great acting jobs by Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke. The "boy" and his sister did pretty good, though not great. Would recommend.
I heard Whiplash was great has anyone seen it? Also need to watch Foxcatch and Birdman before the Oscars
A Most Violent Year - 6.5/10 Loved Oscar Isaac, but the movie was a little slow for me. Good, but slow. Needed some more excitement.
