Don't expect a lot of scoring from him from the get go, he will just have to work into his game again. My possibility is that he gets back at true 100% free of injury and that he picks up where he left off from the beginning of the season. We get howard back and we'll be unstoppable by playoffs.
We don't need a lot of scoring from T-Jones. He just needs to do what he did before his injury. Grab rebounds, block shots, and get a lot of garbage baskets on dunks and layups when Harden is double-teamed.
Last night would have been the type of game that Terrence Jones would have probably dropped 25/10 and then BBHollic and CXbby would have tried to make a case that Jones only does this against bad teams. Look... I love D-Mo, and I want him moving forward for the foreseeable future. The guy still has another level or two he can get to. However, there is a reason why Jones beat him out last year, and probably if healthy would still get minutes over him at times. -Fouling is still an issue for D-Mo -He still hasn't figured out how to really assert himself offensively when he should be dominating his matchup. Last night was a good reminder that its good to still have BOTH guys RIGHT NOW at this stage of their careers. They BOTH do different things, and do them very well even early in their careers. Even though it might kill some of D-Mo and Smith's minutes, I do think Jones coming back will have a positive effect on this team. Later probably next year, I do think it will be much more evident who really should be invested more in moving forward, but right now its pretty obvious that the Rockets still need both guys competing and doing what they do well.
in my humble opinion, Tjones before he is injured, is already playing better than Dmo is playing right now, yeah surely Dmo may have a better post up game than Tjones, but just about any other category, Tjones will beat him out, look at their shooting percentage and win share you will see the difference
Sarcasm, right? I cant tell in the GARM anymore. He's never been much on the boards or on defense. Griffin, Randolph and Aldridge massacre Jones.
Well, those guys massacre a lot of opposing forwards. I'm not gonna crucify the dude if he can't shut them down. There is such a thing as a double team. Unfortunately McHale didn't get the memo in the Portland series until AFTER losing Games 1 and 2. Jones is no worse on the boards than D-Mo. And as for blocks, he's decent at coming from the weakside.
I am as big a D-Mo fan and advocate as there is, but T-Jones should go back to being the starter, far better for balance. minutes distribution and who finishes games can vary, but thats just my opinion
IMO starting Jones over DMo would just take another player out of the starting lineup that can create his own shot putting even more pressure on Harden while making our defense even worse. I just can't see a case for it.
can you see a case for trotting out a small-ball lineup with either SMith OR Jones as the 5? Jones can create off the dribble and is a great cutter
Back then, Jones was our 3rd offensive option and he delivered. Now, our third option on most days is D-Mo or Trevor.
