If you beat the Spurs right away, you immediately gain the respect of the NBA for the rest of the playoffs. That and I do believe we match up well. Spurs in round 1!
This is a really tough... People are saying Dallas for sure, but I think they have alot of bad match ups for us. Rondo vs Pat Bev? One is a better shooter but the other can make plays. Both play decent defense. Monte vs Harden? Monte has shown to play very well against Harden. Almost equal with a slight edge to Harden because of size. Parsons vs Ariza? Parsons quickness is going to give Ariza problems plus Parsons wont have to play much Defense. Dirk vs Dmo? Dirk takes Dmo outside and torches him. Dmo can counter with his post moves but it wont last long when he gets in foul trouble early. Tyson vs Dwight? Dwight will struggle bad... bench vs bench? they got 2 pgs that love the Rockets in Devin Harris and JJ Barea. We have Corey Brewer. I think Canaan would give JJ fits if h came back. I think we match up better with the Spurs... damn...
No option for "who cares". Rockets have take mentality that it doesn't matter who they face and friggin step on the neck of opponents when they have them down. Killer mentality because it's going to be a lot harder to win at the buzzer in the playoffs. All of the players should learn Krav Maga. As well as the coaches.
Anyone but Golden State, preferably not San Antonio, Clippers, or Thunder. I would love to beat the Mavs. Would love to beat Portland too. But don't expect us to beat anyone if we don't get our sh@t together. It's getting a bit ridiculous. We need another play maker, plain and simple. A veteran playmaker would be nice.
How bout we just beat whoever the f stands in our way? No sense taking a cakewalk in the first round just get our asses handed to us in the second and succeeding.
Honestly this is why I think this team is going nowhere as it is. We tend to think teams like the Grizzlies and Spurs and Mavs and Blazers are ideal matchups. But teams like the spurs and mavs will figure us out in a 7 game series and make us have to change our game plan mid way and we all know how terrible we are at that. I'd put a team like the Grizz in that category too though for them it comes more from the players than the coach. Doesn't matter how close game 6 was and how great Aldridge played, Portland still beat us last year when we came in pretty healthy and playing well, with home court. They got better too. We aren't made for the playoffs. Harden would have to go beast mode all series and that is very difficult to do when coaches strategize their defense based on that.
There are no easy preys in the playoffs The way I see it and I for one put some thoughts into that Best teams so far GSW Memphis Champion: Spurs Experienced contenders: Dallas, Clips, OKC Good but beatable: Suns, Blazers (with caution because they own us too)
I think the Spurs of last year would still beat this Rox team 3-2 just because their execution turn into another gear once the playoffs start This year I am not sure but I am not counting them out. If Terrence would still be playing without being injured and he has chemistry with our roster this is another scenario
Yes there is. Getting past the first round is a huge step. You never know what can happen. An injury, someone gets hot, whatever. Even if we face a team like GSW in the 2nd round, you just want that shot.
