Not to mention JJ plays a DE in a 3-4 compared to Houston who is an OLB in a 3-4. His stats ARE inflated in that base D.

I'm hoping that Nix will be ready to rock next season. His knees still worry me, but I think we can get something positive out of him.
I forgot we even had him. Anyone else want to take a positive look at next season. We are basically getting Clowney and Nix for there rookie years. Should make the defense better. Hoping Clowney recovers to the norm. It seems that high profile athletes typically get back to where they were.
When B'more posted the win, the D should have ole'd Bortles into the end zone and moved up a spot in the draft.
I, sadly, wouldn't be surprised if Clowny doesn't play next season. Say his recovery puts him on the PUP list. That has him out until week 6. If he's not ready by then, it's possible he's not ready at all next season...going the Derrick Rose route.
I think I read somewhere that depending on what type of micro, that he will be back sooner than expected. I will try and dig that up. edit: Rodgers looking blah in the first half right now.

::sigh:: This season was a great step forward for the Texans.. I'm very optimistic for the next season with B'Ob as our head coach. Sadly, Clowney will never pan out. Better to just accept it now. Go Texans!
Well Clowney's recovery makes him a question mark for the start of the season, but there have been reasons to think he could come back strong because there has been recent examples of a RB and TE doing just that. I still hate Nix's knees just like I did before we drafted him, but he has the talent of a top tier NT if he can get and stay healthy. There's plenty of reasons for optimism if anyone wants to look at it that way.
