Just finished Leviathan Wakes. Can recommend. Its is a cross between a noir detective and hard core sci-fi.
Elmore. Do not get the name of my favorite author of all-time wrong. I'm reading Game of Thrones. Typically not my bag, but my sister loves it and we typically like the same stuff. 115 pages in and enjoying it.
About to start The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss. It's a short book so should get through it quickly. I'm so ready for him to release the third book in the Kingkiller Chronicles tho! I neeeeeeeed it!
I don't remember who recommend Daemon, but OMG I loved it. I think it was Harrisment. Next beer on me.
Tried reading Fran Lebowitz 'Metropolitan Life' and I couldn't get through the first 30 pages. I've heard her lectures and usually am a fan but man, talk about pretentiousness. This book reeked of it. Currently reading this Phil Spector book. Ain't bad.
It is certainly not a book one enjoys reading. I assume she is in high school? I think it is a worthwhile book for high school students to read.
the martian-andy weir kept seeing great reviews online about it...amazon had it on sale for the kindle version for 3 bucks figured what the heck. halfway in and its pretty darn good so far.
Finishing the first book in Robert McCammon's Matthew Corbett series, Speaks the Nightbird. Highly recommend the book and the author.
My Age of Anxiety by Scott Stossel. A fascinating look into this poor guy who suffers from maddening amounts of anxiety. Thoughts Without a Thinker by Mark Epstein. Book on bridging Zen meditation with modern psychotherapy. Kind of a slow read. Also rereading Influence by Robert Cialdini.
Lots of books received today as gifts. "Die Trying" by Lee Child "Killing Patton" by Bill O'reilly and Martin Dugard "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand Looking forward to reading them all.
