It's not just an overwhelming amount, the last data set on which there was a comprehensive study indicated thathat 11 out of 162,000 cases failed to make it past a grand jury. 99.993 percent, to be exact. Grand jury is a rigged game for the prosecution. There is no rule they have to present both sides, in fact ethically it's arguable that they should not present both sides . Which is why they don't. 99.99+ percent of the time. In this instance he chose to unrig it. That's unusual.
So basically the entire process of a grand jury is essentially a waste of time and resources should probably be abolished in the near future. I mean if 99.99 percent of the time the prosecutor just gets his indictment, than what exactly is the purpose of the grand jury procedure. I mean, would people have been more satisfied if the prosecutor straight up ruled it self defense without calling the grand jury, I personally believe there would be more outrage if he did that.
We don't spend our tax dollars for prosecutors to be defense attorneys... On the flip side it shows how much power the D.A.'s office has and how they can easily railroad someone into a trial. These are steps towards this country becoming a police state. But people are too busy paying attention to the racial elements like puppets.
They are not being called animals because they are black, but because of their actions (such as rioting and looting, burning police cars and houses). There might have been white or Asian people involved in the rioting and looting, and these people were included in being called animals as well, I would assume.
They are certainly acting like animals and savages at that has nothing to do with race. I would say they same thing about anyone who is rioting, looting, and burning down the town they live in regardless of their race. The stupidity gene is in all races.
Yes it is... But ironically when I've seen white people riot in other places _ I never hear anyone refer to them as animals. I've seen white people riot after sporting events and not be called animals. But I already have an idea why southern whites call those black people animals... I was just asking the poster is calling a Asian person oriental worst than calling a black person an animal. I didn't know oriental was a derogatory term towards Asians.
Hands up, don't shoot? Nah, that's a lie -- Brown didn't have his hands up. The protesters were duped by the liars who provided false accounts of what happened. That was the grand jury's determination. Instead, a better phrase: Spoiler
Not according to 16 out of 18 witnesses interviewed... https://twitter.com/mattdpearce/status/537745357552095233/photo/1
There are so many 'legal experts' (like above) that think they have more info than the grand jury did. The justice system that these protesters are advocating would be like setting the civilized world back literally 500 years. That's how far behind they are. And sad to say, but this is a reason why many countries and communities lag behind others in prosperity -- when you do not have a strong legal system, property rights, and the rule of law, you get chaos, lack of investment, and lack of safety. If the protesters in Ferguson had their way, this would be the sad, predictable result. Thankfully, their voices are ignored as they should be.
The article below the chart says 16 of 29 "More than 50 percent of the witness statements said that Michael Brown held his hands up when Darren Wilson shot him. (16 out of 29 such statements)"
Great question. I suppose now it's to make sure that completely fabricated claims for which there was no physical evidence don't get to a trial. I think we threw out one set of charges against a defendant when I was on one when the DA didn't have any evidence to connect a vagrant type guy to a stash at all, he was just in the area. Of course he still got sent up for the drugs he had on him. Many criminal law commentators will agree with you that the system now is a farce that should be abolished. Yes, he would be at least doing his job properly. A sham grand jury proceeding fooled approximately nobody.
The definition of a grand jury---and what was carried out---were drastically different, as masterfully pointed out by Major. Rule of law wise, I've never seen more bar associations and legal scholars on the frontier of the rule of law question this decision than any other. http://www.glamour.com/inspired/blogs/the-conversation/2014/11/legal-scholars-and-the-nationa
Correct me if I am wrong, but it shows that only two witnesses said he did NOT have his hands up. So my understanding is the remaining witnesses either weren't asked, or didn't know whether his hands were up or down. Still seems hard to believe that 16 witnesses were all lying or wrong. But regardless, 16 witnesses statements (or if you prefer, the majority of witnesses) said he had his hands up.
