someone post the video of antoine walker's series clinching AND ONE against the mavs in the 2006 finals and the ensuing shimmy he did on the ground.
This is a bit of a necro bump, but I was thinking about this stat today and I checked the 2015 season leaders so far. I felt like this might generate some interesting discussion given the names involved. So I felt like the bump might be a productive one. Your 2014 winner: Ben McLemore, 297 attempts, .320 2015 leaders, most threes fired at sub-Antoine accuracy levels: 1) Kobe Bryant, 86 attempts, .279 2) James Harden, 85 attempts, .306 3) Chandler Parsons, 77 attempts, .325 4) Jeff Green, 66 attempts, .273 5) Trey Burke, 65 attempts, .277
Disagree with Starks bring on the list. He was very streaky and when hot he could win a lot of ballgames for you. Who else could you want shooting on those teams? Derek Harper?
Way to go McLemore! I am surprised anyone is close to Kobe so far and I am sad it is Harden. Kobe may not always shoot, but when he does, he makes it an ill-advised three point attempt. Who am I kidding, Kobe always shoots.
Interesting thing about McLemore is that he is shooting one more three per game this year at a .414 clip. If you watch any Kings game, dude has become more of spot up shooter and is safety valve from Gay and Cousins.
And I quote (from wiki) "Most 3-point field goals attempted in a game, none made 11 by Antoine Walker, Boston Celtics (vs. Philadelphia 76ers) on December 17, 2001"
Walker has also gone 0 for 10 in another game. Harden is the only other player with 2 games with at least 10 three point misses without making a three pointer.
Antoine Walker only won the Antoine Walker Award once?!?!?! Should it be called the White Chocolate Award?
Bankrupt by 35 Owes child support/fathered numerous children out of wedlock Cut from D-League team Tremendous waste of talent that could rebound, post up, finish inside, put the ball on the floor, pass, run the court and defend 3 positions by 21... And then decided he would rather become a fat, lazy chucker that was content not defending or hustling. He can go hang out with Derrick Coleman, Benoit Benjamin and Michael Beasley.
I'd like to think he saw this thread and was like "aw, hell no!" But quite a recovery for the Beard. Twice, but J-Will definitely had a really dominant period of chucking. Antoine's is more of a sustained long-term excellence in chucking - him and Baron are the only two guys ever to get off 4000 threes in a career while shooting so poorly.
'Toine had decent percentage during those few years when Jason won the award. That probably encouraged him to keep chucking even after his accuracy had plummeted.
