capela - can he be on the IR? so we can add a player and have 15 + capela on the IR for the whole year. BOoM!
Interesting to see him on the active list tonight. I guess the groin injury is not so bad that he couldn't play in a crunch.
FWIW, teams are required to offer a rookie scale deal to first rounders -- Capela went against what were the teams best wishes that he'd stay overseas in order to get paid. He was well within his rights as a draft pick, and the Rockets could have made a gentlemen's agreement with him, similar to what OKC did with their pick, having him agree to not sign the offered deal in exchange for being drafted at that spot and stashed in the D league. Difference being is that Capela was an intriguing prospect, and OKC basically punted by drafting a marginal talent that may have gone undrafted otherwise. That the Rockets did not do that means that they were legitimately high on him, not simply Eurostashing someone in their Bosh chase.
I think McHale would play Capela first over Dorsey. Before sending him to the DLeague, let's see how he plays. Clutch said he heard he has been impressing in practice. We need a rim protector on the 2nd unit.
I can't complain about Capela not getting PT tonight . There was only 1.5 min of garbage time and that's not really enough to do anything . Can't fault McHale for going with Dorsey and just getting the game over with.
Anyone live down in Rio Grande that wants to provide the board with extensive footage of Capela in some games and practice?
Glad to see we're already writing off our first round pick as a bust 4 games into the season. Remember all the talk of Busty Morris? He was ALWAYS going to be a long term project.
