Covington He hasn't real done anything this pre season so why not develop him a little more in the D-League. Yes the kid has potential but I don't think he will be apart of Mchale's rotation.
Feigen tweeted that Covington is considering playing in Europe. It's nonguaranteed deals here vs. guaranteed deals in Europe. It may be good for his overall game to play overseas some and then try to come back to the NBA, like what Bev was able to do.
He averaged over 25 minutes per game during the preseason, more than any other bench player. Also, he's pretty much the only option as a backup for Ariza. And what do you mean he hasn't done anything, he's played consistently good defense and has show great versatility. The only thing he hasn't done is shoot the 3 ball well. I'm pretty sure McHale already has him penciled in as the backup SF and a smallball PF.
K-Pap won't even be considered for D-League duty...We paid him 2 years $4.8 million to come over here after a summer long contract struggle...Morey wouldn't have worked that hard just to place him in the D-League and Pap wouldn't have left Europe unless he was told he would be on the main roster K-Pap has had a good preseason when you take field goal percentage out of the equation...He makes smart plays, goes to the right spots, hustles, plays solid D, and is one of the only guys off the bench who can create for others...He is a valuable 2nd unit guy who will get significant minutes on the main roster
as you said irrelevant--he's out of the league we traded him to Philly last year, and even had to give up Furkan Aldemir for them to take White. Philly then cut him.
