Someone we liked was going to get cut. I just don't like our players at the 4 position in general. I hope we keep Garcia. He brings toughness, not onto the court but just in general
I understand the frustration with cutting Adrien...I wanted to keep him too, but let's get excited about Black. It cost us nothing to add him, and he's been impressive as an undrafted rookie. With some time he may develop into a legit backup center, which allows us to use our resources to shore up other holes on the team.
Dorsey was retained solely because he can play center defensively even if overall he is not what one would call a good player. Adrien was competing with Jones, Motiejunas, Black, and Papanikolaou for backup PF minutes. None of these guys is a stud PF, but all of them deserve to make an NBA roster. I was hoping Morey would consolidate talent a little, but that doesn't appear to be happening.
I don't respect the fact that a lot of players want to play in LA simply because it's close to Hollywood. As much as I hate to say it, I respect the Spurs for acquiring and retaining talent to play in a city with a muddy river as their biggest tourist attraction.
Good riddance to Ish Smith being gone, imagine the Lin hate times 100 if he would've gotten consistent minutes. Suck it Garcia haters!!!!

I am thinking it is likely that Morey has a hand shake deal with Adrien as well (the same as Garcia) to call him up later
Who is Richardson? haha. Glad we kept Garcia, was worried he was on the chopping block, but I like his defense, his outside shot, and his veteran leadership. Speaking of vets, I am very surprised at Terry's play in the preseason. Okay, it's the preseason, not worth a damn. But he is moving well for a 37 year old. If we can stuff him at the end of the bench, and play him in the latter half of the season, he might be valuable in the playoffs -- if we don't use his contract ($$) in a trade. I think Ish is an even worse shooter now than he was a few years ago when he came into the league. I mean it's terrible. I'll never understand how guys come to the league and can't hit a basic floater. Centers? I get it, you're huge, you can't shoot the ball like a normal guy -- you're also significantly higher. But guards??? How do you grow up unable to shoot? Even if you are quick as lightning.
