Funny game. I'm embarrassed on behalf of serious Miami Heat fans (if there is such a thing), and the fact is the Rockets 3rd stringers nearly beat the Heat firing on all cylinders(seriously... I've never seen a team try so hard to win a preseason game).

On the other hand, the Rockets have some serious issues scoring the ball with their second unit, and the shooting of Ish, D-Mo, and Pap is pretty rough. Its going to be hard to score if neither of those 3 guys can shoot the three consistently.

If someone like Prigioni from the Knicks is available for next to nothing, the Rockets should try and jump on that. Also wouldn't be a bad idea to inquire about Barea. Both expiring deals that their teams should try and move anyways. The Rockets need some help in the backcourt behind Bev(even Bev's shooting is a bit concerning).

Daniels needs to be on the floor with Howard. He creates all kinds of space for post players because no one dares to leave him open.

No... Miami got it down to 5 when the Rockets' starters were in.

Then the line-up was Beverley, Terry, Papanikolaou, Motiejunas, Howard, and they got it down to 4.

Then the line-up was the same except Smith in for Beverley (Howard was the only starter on the floor) and Miami tied it up shooting free throws as Howard left the game.

That was at 1:25 of the 3rd quarter.

So the Rockets didn't play their starters from that point on.

This 1 on 1 iso basketball is awful. If Rockets had a coach that knew what he was doing you’d see more cuts, curls and screens to get players easy shots.

Agreed. Daniels should start also. Have Harden play point.

If they can both show consistent defense I'm all for this. They stick to Daniels like glue. He should be throwing the entry pass to Dwight cuz Daniel's man wouldn't dare double team him

The Heat were rallying against the Rockets' starters when they were taken out when they got it down to 5.

So it's not like the starters were doing awesome and the bench came in and started playing bad and gave up the lead.

The bench kind of picked up where the starters left off and gave up the lead.

Then it was pretty even from that point on between the Miami starters and Rockets bench.

Amen. If Harden does that thing where he passes the hot potato with 1 sec left on the shot clock, we still got a chance if he dumps it to Daniels. But I'm being cynical. HnH PnR, surrounded by legit three point shooters Daniels/Terry and Ariza/Garcia, and iffy 3-ballers TJ/DMo, should be effective half-court O.

Also, we all see Harden is, in fact, playing PG most of the time. Might as well put some shooters around him.

We need a pg that can dish the dime. Love Beverly but his energy seems perfect off the bench. Also Papanikalaou has potential but needs ton of work, If Harden can show him some moves and get him to adjust those short threes,we should be fine. Rondo would be amazing to pick up.
