.....Because every other GM passed on him multiple times as well. I'm happy for you that one of your draft crushes landed in the right situation to get a SB win early in his career but attempting to bash one specific GM because he, like the rest of the league, didn't value your draft crush above where he was drafted is pretty laughable.

You'd be better off finding another excuse to whine about Smith.

Yea because drafting a QB in the 3rd round would of totally made sense when Schaub was still the franchise QB and oh the back up QB we drafted the year before won a playoff game.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Drafting wilson would of made no sense which is why he wasn't drafted by the Texans.

There are cases to be made against Smith, you aren't currently making one of the valid ones. The fact that Smith, along with every GM in the NFL passed on your draft crush multiple times, isn't a legitimate reason to complain.

smith passing on a franchise qb 3 times is not a valid reason to complain??

SMH, By that "logic" every GM should have been fired after passing on Tom Brady at least 5 times in the draft. Please move on, you're just digging a hole.

If only GM's could predict the future.....oh wait they can't. We could all be NFL GM's if we could look 2-3 years in the future. Congrats

uh ya, how many nfl gm's are still around when tom brady was drafted?

i'm guessing not many... and nfl gm's don't exactly retire. lol.

i'm not sure what your blathering about. you realize rick is only around because mcnair recently gave him an extension? im sure he'll be fired this offseason so BOB can bring in his own guy.

Your whole argument is based upon the ability of being able to predict the future and make moves accordingly.

Im totally sure you as the GM of the Texans would of predicted the downfall of Schaub who before 2013 proved to be more than a capable NFL starter (12-4 record in 2012 no big deal) and still spend a 3rd round pick on Wilson totally ignoring Yates who was drafted the year before who only won a playoff game...again no big deal, backup rookie QB's win playoff games all the time.

You should apply to be a GM somewhere. With your ability to predict the future NFL teams will be lining up for your services.

Smith missed on a 3rd round QB that pretty much every GM in the league missed on as well...And Seattle missed a couple times too before they drafted him.

That's absolutely not a reason to knock Smith...he has a thousand other flaws in his body of work, but this is not one of them.

I'd think Smith would have been more at fault had he taken Teddy at the end of the first round. You can say you were pounding your fists on the table for Wilson, but you were doing it more so for Bridgewater. Let's not act like anyone here is better suited to be an NFL GM than Rick. He sucks relatively speaking, but he also knows more than all of us combined.

    So, is Clowney playing?

Its Vrabel that thinks he's the wuss?

    How does JJ feel?

Psh whatever. HTown_DieHard and his power of hindsight would totally blow Rick Smith out of the water as a GM. Not only that but he could also use it in the NBA. We know your reading these post Morey, hire the guy! You can avoid all future mistakes by knowing what will happen 2-3 years down the road. Can't go wrong ;)

    1. No one knows, it's a game time decision.

    2. If you believe Braddock's nonsense and if you are speculating that Vrabel is the moron who is trying to force Clowney to play before he's ready, then maybe.

    3. I'm sure he feels fine, from what he's posting on Twitter it looks like he's starting to get tired of seeing himself in commercials all the time.

Yea... Sammy sucks big time. Boy was I stupid for saying he was the safest pick in the draft.

Still too early on Teddy. He's a rookie quarterback. But if that's the case _ Smith didn't take Teddy, he took Xavier... And Clowney.

i can elaborate on the different levels of wrong that is your post... but nah, a casual fan such as yourself is not worth it.

i will simply say it is the GM's job to "predict the future" per se.
