http://thehill.com/policy/technology/219307-fcc-kills-sports-blackout-rule If football games (and by extension Rockets games) can't be blacked out on local channels, can we get all the Rockets home games on League Pass? How about local TV?
Here's the official document produced by the FCC http://www.fcc.gov/document/commission-eliminates-sports-blackout-rules
My bet, at this point, is that if the ruling applies to the NFL, it will apply to the NBA and MLB as well.
The best bet would be that it would apply to the NFL and NBA but not MLB due to its previous treatment by the courts: see "America's Pastime"
the nba's blackouts are contractual, not legal are they not? didn't think the nba broadcast on free to air at all anymore.
The nba blackout that impacts houston with regards to csn is not impacted by this ruling. That is an out market blackout agreed to between the league and cable providers, not the FCc.
