There are very few athletes on my home teams that I care enough about to consider them "untouchable"

Dream was the only other in my lifetime.....now you can add JJ F***IN Watt to that list.

He embodies everything I look for in an athlete on one of my teams. If he doesnt retire a Texan I would be VERY disappointed.

And? JJ has one of those, too. And, frankly, should have won it last year over Kuechly.

I didn't hear the show but I'd be willing to bet one of three things happened: 1) everyone they called is related to Luke (or Luke himself, though I have a feeling Luke would probably vote for JJ); 2) the actual question was "who is the best defensive player on the Carolina Panthers"; 3) the people they contacted had all just returned from a years-long secret mission to Mars and, upon being hit with the question, initially answered, "Reggie White" before being told it was 2014, at which point they looked up "current defensive player of the year" and ignorantly voted for Luke.

If I were truly the BIGGEST contrarian of all-time, I'd probably do something silly like... oh,I don't know - claim Luke Kuechly is the best defensive player in football.

How did this guy only get $100 mil?

    Underpaid!

PS: Not that anyone really worried before but nice to see a guy get paid and still goes out and performs at a high level.

Foster, Cushing, Joseph, pretty much anyone not named Watt or Johnson.

The sWATT towards the end was the perfect way to top off his first game after getting paid.

Watt also didn't beat out Bullock for the kicking job.

Watt is a complete bust imo.

And people wanted to the Texans to play the leverage game with him...smh.

The man is still underpaid! But now at least he only has football to worry about and got all the contract stuff out of the way

JJ Watt is going to put a synthetic cap on all defensive player contracts, because no one is going to want to make more than him as a sign of respect.

    Respect, or fear.

Oh, they're going to want to but know they wouldn't live up to it with Watt as the example. DE's are hating him right now. Big time respect.

On another note, j jo has to go. Overpaid scrub

Man Watt is going to be good for a long time. While he freak athleticism may wear away, he has the fundamental skills to be great for a long time if his body holds up.
