I wonder why they extended the Lancaster.. I figured Lunhow would want to get out of such a volatile ball park for minor leaguers.
Na, jeff is smarter than any other man on earth, he uses the differences in the baseball atmosphere in lancaster to his advantage. don't question jeff luhnow and his decision making, none of us are smart enough to do so
Josh Hader got back on track with 4.1 0 ER and 7 K's. He's had a lot of control issues at CC, he's walked 16 in 20 IP. Hopefully he gets that cleared up next season.
Let's pretend for a second there are three men and three women left in the world. The three men are Brad Pitt, George Clooney and John Daly. The three women are Katy Perry, Jennifer Lawrence and Roseanne Barr. You might ask why John Daly didn't sever his contract with Roseanne Barr after two years and go with Jennifer Lawrence, but that would logically be figured out when looking at the variables in play.

Appel struggling a bit again, 2 er thru 3.1 innings with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Hopefully he rights the ship.
Villar Santana Hoes Wojciechowski White Clemens Bass Stassi They would be logical choices, but I would let them play until OKC season finishes.
Looks like it was a strange appearance... since they had Darren Downs starting the game as his rehab start, and Appel actually came in "relief" in the top of the first with two men on (in other news, Downs sucked in his rehab start). We all know starting pitchers are very meticulous with their routines... can't imagine him having to come in relief earlier than expected (or at all) "helped" with that... then again, the minors is as much for experimentation and getting to do whatever you want than it is about "winning", so it is what it is. At least Appel was able to end the inning without any more damage allowed.... will bode well in his future as a situational bullpen pitcher .
I noticed that Appel came in as a reliever, that definitely could have thrown him off his game a bit.

Hitter of the Day—J.D. Davis, 3b, low Class A Quad Cities (Astros). The 2014 third-round pick from Cal State Fullerton—who hit a grand slam in the Stillwater Regional to beat Nebraska—is about to finish up what’s been a terrific pro debut. The 21-year-old righthanded hitter slugged two homers Sunday and drove in four runs in a 9-4 win at Burlington. Across two levels, Davis is slashing .289/.366/.494 with 12 homers with one game remaining, Monday afternoon at Burlington. Davis’ best tool is his raw power and he has been able to tap into that in games since he was drafted. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/baseball-america-prospect-report-april-24/
That was A.J. Reed unless they both took batting practice. Speaking of Reed he hit really well to end the season. Both Davis and Reed ended up with 12 homeruns between Short Season A and Low-A. This years draft looks horrible now because we missed out on the #BandofBrothers, but the trio of Reed/Davis/Fisher might make this draft. Velazqez and Mengden look good too.
I guess he's not going to be, or he doesn't think that he will be, one of the call-ups.... <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Whelp looks like another wasted year down the drain! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/thanksfornothin?src=hash">#thanksfornothin</a> AZ here I come</p>— Rudy Owens (@Rudy_Owens) <a href="https://twitter.com/Rudy_Owens/statuses/506580203960016896">September 1, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Vince Velasquez with an odd line... he got all 6 of his outs via strikeout, but he did give up 4 runs in the process.
