Anyone see him on raw last Monday? He was trending on twitter. People were asking how he afforded the second row seats and the other half were eagle fans.
University of Texas hires Vince Young Vince Young has been hired by the University of Texas to work for its Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. Young, who retired from the NFL in June after six seasons, will serve as a development officer for program alumni relations, raising money for programs that help first-generation and low-income college students. "The position with DDCE is a great way to stay connected to the university and help make a difference in the lives of underserved kids across the state," Young said in a statement. According to the Austin American-Statesman, Young's position will pay him at least $100,000 a year. He begins work on Sept. 1. "Vince's passion for the educational success of young people and his experiences as a first-generation college graduate make him a perfect fit for this role," Gregory J. Vincent, UT's vice president for diversity and community engagement, said in a statement. "We are excited about the enthusiasm and skill set he is bringing to our team and look forward to working with Vince." Former Texas coach and current ESPN analyst Mack Brown posted his excitement on Twitter. Young finished his bachelor's degree at UT in applied learning and development last year while waiting for another chance to play in the NFL. Since his last pro start, with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, Young had struggled to catch on with another team. He was cut by the Green Bay Packers at the end of preseason last year and briefly signed on with the Cleveland Browns this spring after a minicamp tryout. Young led Texas to a BCS national championship in 2005. He was 31-19 as a starter and threw for 8,964 yards and 46 touchdowns in his six years as a pro. "Vince Young brought a national championship to Texas, returned to the Forty Acres to earn his degree and will now help other students reach their goals and change the world," UT president Bill Powers said in a statement. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11352015/university-texas-hires-former-quarterback-vince-young
yea. . . but Fitzzie is a better NFL QB <Insert Eye Roll> Rocket River #JeffFisherGotVYBlackBalledOutTheLeague *chuckle* *SMH*
Actually, as bad as Fitzpatrick is, he IS a better NFL QB than Young. Career QB Rating: Fitzpatrick 77.5 Young 74.4
Vince Young says he would have stayed at Texas if he had known Houston wouldn't draft him. https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/vince-young-says-he-would-have-stayed-at-texas-if-he-knew-houston-wouldn-t-draft-him-221125953.html
Unless this is sarcasm, you need to get out of here with that BS. The Bills brought Vince in when Fitzpatrick was their QB. Did Vince take his job? No, he got cut in favor of Tyler Thigpen. He's been given chance after chance. He couldn't learn the offense in Buffalo, he couldn't learn the offense in Green Bay, he couldn't learn the offense in Philly. If you can't pick up a team's playbook, you can't be a QB in the NFL. Young's stupidity or laziness got him blackballed out of the League.
He is. VY was a complete bust who threw his pads in the stands. Fitz is a decent backup QB. Fitz had more TD's than INTs. Generally, as a QB, you want more of the former.
If he was a complete bust he wouldn't have won a roy or been a pro bowler.During his time in Tennessee they had sub .500 record when he didn't play and a well above .500 when he did. He couldn't handle the pressure and failed, but Fitz is not good.
Dude just stop. All you are doing is provoking these guys to keep ****ting over a great Texas player and one of the best college players to come out of the city of Houston.
Vince Young was not a "bust" at all. He had a marginally successful NFL career. he collected a couple accolades and played an important roles on some playoff teams. Saying he was a complete bust is an utterly clueless thought. Someone like Matt Lienart is a complete bust, someone who basically never even made it on the field.
