I fully expect the Wolves to be significantly worse this year. None of Rubio, Wiggins, Young, or Pekovic can shoot. They will have similar spacing to the Pistons.

NO WAY, Heat will make the playoffs and they will be top 5 teams in the east.

Ok? Let's assume NOP don't make the Playoffs, and, as with the 9th seed last year, are slotted at the #14 pick. Last year, the #4 and #5 teams in the East had I think the #18 and #19 pick. That's not a huge difference, and the additional 4-5 slots would have been necessary to help the Sixers swallow Lin's poison pill.

As BimaThug tweeted, if a decent (but not great) Miami pick and Shved/Moute got you Young, you'd like to think the Pellies pick and some non-guaranteeds could get you a better player.

I think we could easily get Millsap, but are holding out for someone better.

Yes this year but how about in 2 years after Wiggins develops into a stud, Rubio, Dieng, Bennett, Muhammad, LaVine all develop even more, they get a couple of more lottery picks, Pekovic and Young will be in their primes, they spend a little FA cash... just saying they are in a good place.

Again, Heat will make the playoffs and might actually have HCA since pacers are out of the picture. NOP is a lottery team specially in the tough west. point is NOP's pick is more valuable then a late first rounder.

Wiggins might be a stud, might not. Rubio has been playing pro ball forever and is close to his ceiling IMO. Dieng will be lucky to develop into a starting caliber C. Bennett is pure fool's gold. Surely you are jesting with Muhammad. Mediocrity gets you 10th seed in the West and looks like their indefinite future.

Best case is they go into the tank and draft another potential star player to pair with Wiggins, trade Pek, get something in return for Rubio in a SnT when his contract is up, fire Flip and hire a head coach worthy of the job and strike it big in the 2015 or 2016 free agent market.

I don't think that things really this way in the NBA marketplace.

Trading talent and other assets in the NBA is not like trading stocks, bonds and commodities in an open and liquid market. The NBA has only 30 teams, 400-450 or so player during the season and a limited number of other types of assets (draft picks, "stashed" players, and trade exceptions/non-guaranteed deals that allows a team to essentially "trade" cap flexibility). Among the 450 or so player in the NBA, there are perhaps 30 or so high level "difference maker" players that the Rockets would target for as a "third star."

You can't just go out and place an order for a "Paul Millsap" or "Goran Dragic" like you can place an order for 1000 shares of Apple stock or 2000 ounces of gold. There is a limited number of those types of players out there and a limited number of potential trade counterparties and whether these players are available and what price you have to pay for them depends on the whims of the player's current team.

It's helpful that the Rockets have some assets, but there is no guarantee that someone else would be willing to trade a player that you want for those assets.

I don't doubt that. Ultimately, all trades are "do you have what I want", regardless of some kind of market price.

As I mentioned earlier, I do think we could have had Millsap last year. Just my opinion of course.

Suns have absolutely nothing to lose rolling the dice on K-Love. Bledsoe is going to walk away anyway. God if they get Love, Suns are a serious player in the West next year.

Assuming its Bledsoe and maybe a pick for Love, their roster is filthy:

    Dragic/Thomas/Ennis
    Green
    Tucker/Warren
    Love/Markieff/Marcus
    Plumlee/Len

Wouldn't be surprised either if TJ Warren ends up rookie of the year, he looked so polished in Summer League.

Love won't sign an extension for Phoneix he will just leave for Clevland after the season. Not only that what the Suns can offer doesn't even come close to the Wolves offer.

    Suns forum rumor is

    Wiggins to Suns
    Love to Cavs
    Bledsoe, Bennett, Green to T'Wolves

I think the minny would be better off keeping Wiggins, but you never know.

    PG: Bledsoe, Williams
    SG: Rubio, Martin
    SF: Green, Brewer
    PF: Young, Bennett
    C: Pekovic, Dieng

Not bad, maybe we could then swing a 3 way trade for Rubio
