Nah, I think a two-year veteran's minimum deal for Garcia would be about $2.8 million. My GUESS is that the Rockets agreed to pay Garcia more in Year 1 in exchange for either/both of (a) opting out of his last contract to give the Rockets more cap room this summer and/or (b) giving the Rockets a non-guaranteed second year. We'll just have to wait and see what the contract actually looks like--including whether news of this signing is even true--before we can make an informed judgment.
Any chance that higher first year amount is to facilitate a SnT, and that's why this hasn't been announced by the media?
whats that put the roster at? 33? 34? w 30 being min or nonguranateed contracts...lol Maury u crazy little asset collector....
Him and Casspi were a no show last year Don't care for him, but he seems like he is a good bench cheerleader
Probably not. Sign-and-trade deals must be for at least THREE years (although only the first season needs to be guaranteed).
Thanks. I'd be surprised if Cisco wasn't receptive to a 3rd non-guaranteed year, especially if he's getting paid more up front.
If Cisco is back on the team, well....My wife and I are very pious due to Cisco, let's put it that way. For example, when Francisco Garcia checks into a game: My wife and I: [in unison] Oh, God..... Then me, hopefully many years later, trying to b.s. my way into heaven: Angel at Pearly Gates (looking at register): You mean to tell me that every time you yelled "JEE-SUS CHRIST" during a Rockets game, you were praying? Me: Okay, look, you got me, I'm sorry, but tell God, You can probably discount half of those "JEE-SUS CHRIST"s because they were because Francisco Garcia was clanking shots off the rim. AND HE WOULDN'T QUIT SHOOTING. Angel: Why wouldn't he quit shooting? Me: Because Kevin McHale was coach.. Angel: Oh, wow. McHale the coach and Garcia as backup wing player. That's right, I forgot about that. Okay, you've already gone through Hell. Come on in. OPEN THE GATE!
