They still won a title with Dirk and nobody even looked at the Mavs as contenders that year. I think if you can win at least one title with your franchise star, that can be looked at as a success.

 

Good Luck and Good Riddance to CP25! I can't to see how much he improves next season IF at all. He will need to step up and deal with the rest of SF in the West.

Agreed 100%. I would care about '99er status' for $15m for even just one year. It would make a good investment because it would double the people on the board who give a damn.

 

Well he was under the impression that wasting money on Tyson Chandler and others would prevent them from chasing guys like Howard and Melo. It was a calculated risk that backfired.

I'd feel a lot better about that if Morey had even one ring to point to. Cuban does, sadly.

So yeah..he gutted a championship team..but he also built one. Would be nice to see us build a team that could win a championship so we can see if we gut it.
