Morey: Hey Trevor its Daryl here
    Ariza: Sup
Morey: Hey look I know we traded you after only one season here but we'd like to bring you back.
Ariza: I like the new lineup but I want 12 mil a year
Morey: Yeah so I'm not paying you that. I'll start you at 8 the first year and every year after that we'll pay you incrementally less every year after that.
    Ariza: What?
Morey: And you get to go to the strip club with James after every game.
    Ariza: Deal!!

why the only way we can go above the cap and keep quality players is by keeping parsons.

This is a great value sign for Morey. Helps tremendous on D and this team needs that. I'd guess/hope Morey isn't done before the deadline to match parsons. Ariza + Jameer (for example) brings good depth and after Parsons is matched would be a good upgrade for this team. Given the circumstances Morey did pretty good.

So by waiting til the last possible minute to re-sign Parsons the Rockets are essentially leaving the Mavs unable to pursue any free agent.

Augustine or Brooks are my go to next guys to sign. Even if we overpay.
    After that match Parsons.

Not a bad deal and still a fair value pickup after missing out on Bosh. Move Parsons to the 4 and we have a very sold starting 5.

Wonder if Morey still uses the remaining cap space before matching as well. If Stephenson is willing to on a 6th man role, could be great on this team.

Great deal now Cuban can feel stupid for giving parsons that ridiculous deal. Finally some solid D on the wing witch is what we needed really bad! Now resign Troy Daniels and you have a good squad... Harden and Howard can easily handle the offensive, while Pat Trevor and Howard handle the D. Love this pick up look at the bright side SA doesn't need superstars to win they just need hard play and hustle.

I feel as Ariza is a better value at the same position. Plus I don't want either starting at PF. Also doubt that Ariza comes here for cheap to play behind Parsons.

If we resign Parsons, I agree though that we start Ariza.

Makes no sense to not match parsons. This was a fair deal....hope there's more to come. But this feels cathartic.....needed some good news in a bad way.
