Doesn't make sense to get Ariza at 11 million. All you are doing is trading Ariza for Parsons and now you have less money to sign two players. It only makes sense if you can't sign anyone else before Sunday. If you can get a decent free agent point guard or powerforward - we're much better off signing someone else for 10 million who solves a weakness and keeping parsons. That way we have one hole to fill and not two.
No, Lin is a better dribbler than Ariza. If we sign Ariza and let Parsons go, I believe we would be significantly worse. DD
Morey, is a professional. He understands and sees the future of the rockets years ahead of most. He doesnt do things in spite.
Not sure you can really sell Ariza on coming to Hou if he's not being guaranteed the starting spot, & unlike how I believed Parsons could be matched if they got a Big SF like Deng, or Melo, I don't think you really want to go that small at the 3/4 the entire season.
Agreed. Parsons is too important a player for this Houston Rockets team. Adding Ariza and Parsons, it will help us a lot. But the most important thing is to keep Parsons.
This is a team that regularly played 4 guard lineups before we got Asik, I have no doubt they would do that.
Yeah. Parsons 4 Ariza? Terrible. Parsons, Lin, Asik, 1st for Ariza and a reverse protected NO pick? Even worse, man.
No it doesn't the Rox are in win now mode, if Les has to go into Lux tax- so be it, we have only 2 years of Dwight at this point, you don't get worse, that is going the wrong way. We need to keep the core together and add, stop changing the roster so much or we will NEVER develop the chemistry necessary to win big. DD
Would he be smart enough to not run a fastbreak at the end of the game when we're up? Or just lose the ball at the end of a close game followed by letting the guy he should be guarding be open for 3
Only way I would sign Ariza over Parsons if it was a Frye type of deal of 4 years 32 million with a player option on year 3 and team option on year 4. 8 million a year is good value. He is 29 and we would be able to get out of the deal before he started to decline.
Doesn't matter if the Rockets want it to happen (go super small the entire season). Ariza isn't coming to Houston unless he knows they are letting Parsons walks to play the 3. I have a nagging suspicion as well that this was a reason why Houston go eliminated (unofficially) early from the Melo race. They pitched him that they are keeping Parsons as well, and when he marinated on that pitch he realized that he'd end up guarding the likes of LaMarcus Aldridge, Dirk, Kevin Love, etc. and said... ahhh never mind.
