If you don't think your coach is the best .. . then why did you hire him As an owner you have to hype everything about your product whether it is true or not Its called advertising Rocket River
McHale is not a bad coach, he is an atrocious, pathetic coach. A clueless, incompetent bottom 3 NBA head coach and an embarassment to the Rockets when it comes to coaching or lack thereof.
I'm so distraught. I doubt I'll be able to watch the next season after this heinous comment by Mr. Cuban.
cant stand this racist enabling idiot. Why does he always hint or talks about us? I have negative respect for this moron.
Rick Carlisle the coach who had the game won, and then went Hack an Howard which then blew up in his face to cost him the game. The guy can coach, but lets not act as is he's basketball perfection or anything. The Rockets can win a championship despite McHale. The Rockets cannot win a championship strictly because of Rick Carlisle. That's the hard truth about NBA coaches. Who gives a S$%# if Cuban is trying to pitch star players about his apparent ace in the hole selling feature Rick Carlisle. The Rockets have two things that trumps Rick Carlisle as a selling feature all day every day.... James Harden & Dwight Howard. Hell... I'd even say Chandler Parsons & Patrick Beverley trump that sales pitch. Why are we spending time discussing this..... oh yeah, because people are obsessed with their favorite scapegoat Kevin McHale. The players love playing for him. That trumps whiny fan opinion. So you guys just need to deal with the fact that he's the coach of the Houston Rockets next year because that's what Harden & Howard want, and if they have a good year next year its better to keep him rather than risk chemistry by replacing him. So get it off your chest now and move on. You are never going to be able to enjoy the few years the Rockets have in front of them coming up if you constantly let yourself be obsessed with Kevin McHale & it will ruin your fan experience.
Pop showed us last year that not all coaches are perfect. Carlisle - 1 chip as a coach McHale - 2 first round exits as a coach What more needs to be said.
So your judgement of McHale is based on who has won a title and who hasn't? Setting it up that way, you are always going to be obsessively whining about the coach. You know there are only 4 active coaches in the NBA that have won a championship? 4 out of 30. Its much more likely you are going to have a coach that either has just a little trophies in his office, or much much less. If the Rockets have two more 50+ win seasons at that point McHale will have nearly the same career winning % as George Karl & Rick Adelman(two great coaches who never won a chip). As great as those two coaches are from an X's and O's standpoint, Kevin McHale could very well end up with the same winning %.... what does that say about NBA coaching? As long as the team is winning and hitting their marks, than its just not going to happen (firing him). Fans just need to sit back and realize that he's not going anywhere next year so please stop b****ing about it non stop. Save it for next May (if the Rockets underachieve).
He's not necessarily wrong but you'd always rather have the best players than the best coach. Sucks for you Cuban.
The first whining was done by the OP - who takes offense to the fact that Cuban thinks Carlisle is a great coach. Also I don't consider Parsons and Bev to be much of a sales pitch. We have arguably the worst starting get pg in the league and nothing but Canaan backing him up. Parsons is a good young player but nothing that is going to lure Lebron or Melo or Love.
Subtly calling McHale a bad coach is literally the nicest thing anyone has ever said about his coaching ability. He is the actual worst coach in the NBA.
um...i was responding to your comparison of McHale and Carlisle. if i have a choice between a coach with a chip and a coach without a chip, then i'll go with the coach who has a chip every time. getting bounced out of the first round despite having two all-nba players is not "hitting their marks."
