I remember this guy playing elite defense on Durant in his rookie year. Durant had to work hard to get his. Now he can shoot but let´s anyone score on him and 90% of this board spreads this nonsense of how untradable he is, and Rondo isn´t enough for him blablabla.

After saying that he is the best SF in this series, he let´s an average player in Batum dominate him, and what does he think he should do next?
He believes that saying that a more talented team(Rockets) deserve to go through even though they are getting outplayed (and outcoached) in every position except C.

And lol at the people spreading the "you should have this mentality to win". Dudes no one is saying that you should "feel" differently then what he expressed, the problem is he gains absolutely nothing in going public with it, other then the other team looking at your quotes and getting more or less motivated then what they already are.

 

Parsons has an unbelievably low IQ is all.
The best time to say this would be when you knock them out and win this series, if it ever happens.

 

Yup, I remember Kobe of all people complimenting Parsons on his defense. That's how he took the starting spot from Chase, Parsons played hustle D and rebounding. Now, he just preens and does his stupid pump fake tunnel vision drive into traffic while letting players blow past him on the other end.

I think both Harden and Parsons have adopted a Wilt Chamberlain mindset when it comes to defense: they never want to be taken out because of possible foul trouble, so they go half speed or less on defense.

 

For Christ's sake, repeating it again and again doesn't make it true. Just look at the stats, Parsons is putting up 20/6/2 on decent shooting percentages while not even averaging ONE turnover per game. It is a pretty even matchup, maybe slightly in Batum's favor because of his defense, Batum is certainly not the "much better" SF in this series.
I really wonder what some people here expect him to say. It's the playoffs, why not have some confidence not only in yourself, but also in your teammates? Do you really think that this statement will turn the tide in Portland's favor in terms of motivation? Come on now.

Better team doesn't always win Chandler. It is obvious Rockets are the better team but Portland have the much better coach.

omg Parsons is the last person that should be saying this, I think hes got an ego from being a starter, hes not particularly good at anything but really just is ok at everything so he fits into the Rockets core.

 

Everyone keep calm and watch the game. Parsons D worsening over the last couple of years is a result of bad coaching..not him. Parsons has stepped up his game and now it's Hardens turn.
