Don't be bias now. Lin turnovered the ball twice in that game. The same amount as Asik and Howard, more than Harden. Game 1 is his best playoffs game yet. But the rest of your statement is true.
God I can't wait for Morey to ship Lin's ass out of town. Hopefully he'll take his insufferable fans with him too. Good riddance.
Lin sucks but I'm also confused by the way Rockets "fans" perceive games. Harden and Parsons have also been downright horrible. It's arguable that Harden has cost the team more because he handles the ball for such a large % of possessions. Without Harden, you'd have more ball movement and you wouldn't have the defense breaking down every time he lets the offensive player go right by him. Who's to say the Rockets wouldn't be better off without him in the playoffs?
it's easier to blame LIN because expectations are higjer because he makes $15 mil a year or whatver so we want results. and he makes mistakes at really bad times so that magnifies it
Actually, that play was just a good play by the Blazers. faking the screen so Asik can't hedge, but still getting the same separation because Harden is expecting a hedge. Honestly, it Howard screwed up that rotation there with poor help. If you are going to call out Harden for sucking on defence, at least pick a good play to criticize. There are plenty of them; it's not hard.
Dwight Howard, Omer Asik, and Patrick Beverley have been fantastic. I wouldn't say anyone else has played well. Lin has made some poor decisions but overally has played as expected. I am probably most upset with Harden and Parsons. And, not because of anything on offense. They're just not even trying on defense. They're getting blown by or gambling for steals on almost every play.
Nope. Harden got ringed after his first two games, and rightfully so. Those were on him (and obviously Mchale). But games 3 and 4? Lin made a horrible decision in both of those games that gave the Blazers life, and sent the games to OT. Lin's not the most important player on the team and he's lucky the Rockets won in OT for Game 3, but he, without question, gave the Blazers that game last night. The Rockets had it won and Lin threw it away. If you can't understand that then I'm sorry.
Both teams are battling, but one inept role player has gift wrapped overtime TWICE to the other team.
It's because everybody is focused on one tree and not seeing the whole forest. Basketball is a team sport played over 48 minutes. Winning or losing is not defined in 30 seconds by one player. Yes, Lin screwed up terribly. But there's so many screwups in our organization that we aren't true contenders anyway. Things Lin isn't responsible for: 1) McHale's terrible coaching offensively and defensively 2) Harden's bad defense 3) Parsons's bad defense 4) Harden's FG% 5) Parsons having one complete game of offense There are so many more. While Lin doesn't deserve his contract, he gets scapegoated way too much around here. Our team needs many fixes. Maybe a 1st round exit will actually make our organization attempt to fix these problems.
If Harden didnt suck, we be 3-0 or 3-1. Coach and ref had an impact too. But getting rid of Mcfail would be a start. Bring in a coach who is not afraid of getting in Hardens face and holding him accountable.
lol where did the OP compare Lin to Harden; he simply said Lin is not the ONLY person to be blamed for the losses Lin actually had a decent 1st game, not so good 2nd, 3rd game he did blow that lay up but made it up in the end with the loose ball, and 4th game, well that was inexcusable, but no matter how bad Lin is, Harden is the team's "superstar" he has to do well for us to win.
