According to Jonathan Feigan, Jeremy Lin missed practice today due to symptoms of the flu. I believe this is a cause for concern because he is our spark off of the bench, and the flu tends to make it's way through most teammates in the locker room. Am I overreacting?
Yes. It's called 24hr flu for a reason. He'll be fine for the game - hopefully he didn't infect anyone. Further, 'flu-like' symptoms can mean any number of things that are not actually the flu.
Awkward...because it isn't called the 24 hr flu haha. The flu lasts longer than that. You're thinking the 24 hr STOMACH flu, which does tend to be gone after around 24 hours or so. Flu-like symptoms tells us little to nothing about what it actually could be.
He's about to become a legend. He will succumb to the flu on the court after a monstrous 73 point, 23 assist, 12 rebound, 10 steal game. He will die a martyr and the Rockets will use him as motivation to sweep the rest of the playoffs. Jeremy Lin will instantly be inducted in the basketball hall of fame and Clutchfans will become Linfans in remembrance of Lin. Linfans:
He's probably just a little run-down. Anyone ever have one of those days when you physically just run into a wall, and you feel achy (breaky heart, my achy breaky heart, I just don't think you'd understand...) and tired, then you get some much-needed rest and you bounce back? At least, that's what I hope it is. Whereas you could chop off Patrick "Wolverine" Beverly's leg (a lot of Portland fans would like to do so) and he'd just grow a new one overnight.
I'm just glad Lin finally stepped up in a playoff game. Couldn't be happier in his performance. Anything more and it'd be miraculous. Now, if Harden and Howard can get back to beast mode levels...
