2014 NBA Playoffs: Indiana Pacers(1) vs Atlanta Hawks(8)

This is why having the best perimeter defender is hardly as valuable as having the best perimeter scorer come playoff time. Harden will do a decent job and maybe even a good job when the game is on the line, but you need someone who can score more than you need someone who can get a stop. Especially with the way the rules favor perimeter offensive player in todays league.

How many times have you seen a game winning shot/dunk? Now how many times have you seen a game winning dunk/block/steal.

Having the best offensive player on the floor >>>>>having the best defensive player on the floor (excluding bigs, unless that big is an offensive player but there are not any of those left).

 

1. Experience (Nets) beat youth (Raptors).
2. Off shooting day for JCrossover and Griffin only played 4 minutes in the first half.
3. Indy continuing the abysmal fashion in which they ended the season.

Pacers are such trash. That performance was worse than pathetic. They don't even look like they should be in the playoffs.

Knicks or Cavs would have shown more than that.

 

Again...wouldn't be shocked at all if Pacers don't make it to ECF. In fact, if I had to pick now, I wouldn't bet much on them reaching ECF. That team has been struggling for a good while now.

Now that the Hawks have blown the Pacers out in Indy two times this month, would you bet on the Pacers to win this series? Win a game in this series? If the fact of the playoffs starting isn't enough to inject a pulse into the Pacers, they are doomed.

For game 2, I don't know which is more likely: A Pacers blowout win or another Hawks blowout.

 

The way the Pacers look right now, it wouldn't shock me if they lost this series. They've been looking too inept far too often recently. Its hard to take them seriously right now.

Clutchfans, please stop knee jerking. It's just one game. Let me guess, the Warriors are going to beat the Clippers and the Hawks are going to beat Indiana. IT'S JUST ONE GAME. You guys are the worst when it comes to this.

Remember when the Bulls beat Miami in game 1 in 2011? You guys crowned them and deemed the series over. Then we all know what happened next.

Hardly anyone in this thread is saying the Hawks will win. The only takeaway from this thread so far is that Indy doesn't look good / doesn't look like they deserve to be in the playoffs, much less the 1 seed.
