Should we look to Jeremy Lin to be our closer as opposed to James Harden?

?

Should Jeremy Lin be our closer instead of James Harden?

  1. Yes, Harden makes me soften.

    50.8%
  2. No, Beardsanity > Linsanity.

    49.2%

May not be closer, but defensively he stepped up as well.

    Fail thread OP.

    Harden can't close games? Really?

He has closed several several games for the Rockets this season.

There is no question of "may"

Harden is the closer on this team and will be for as long as he remains on this team.

In one word the answer is NO. You use the best scorer on your team to close out a game. Anyone with eyes can see its Harden.

LOFs flooded the voting like All-Star ballot stuffers.

This thread should be used as a tutorial to show how to create the perfect knee-jerk thread.

This thread is the perfect example of idiocy and the lack of basketball knowledge or even lack of reasoning among most Lin fans.

I will refrain from saying "all" and will go with "most" because although clearly biased, there are some Lin fans here that you can reason with.

Harden breaks the first rule of being a closer on Clutchfans. He's not Asian. He needs to work on that if he wants to be a closer.

Dumb thread, Harden is option #1 but Lin can definitely help take pressure off of him

In fairness to the people who voted for Lin (and to dissipate the notion that there is some huge LOF conspiracy), these are Lin's stats at the time this poll was created:

    11/13 - FGs - 10-19, 34 pts, 60% 3pt, 11 assists
    11/11 - FGs - 10/17, 31 pts, 50% 3pt, 1 assist
    11/9 - FGs - 3/7, 6 pts, 7 assists
    11/7 - FGs - 5/8, 16pts, 50% 3pt, 3 assists
    11/5 - FGs - 4/8, 12 pts, 50% 3pt, 4 assists
    11/4 - FGs - 4/8, 14 pts, 50% 3pt, 8 assists
    11/2 - FGs - 7/13, 20 pts, 40% 3pt, 4 assists

That was the stretch of good play that led some of us to wonder 50-40-90 possibilities. #contextiseverything

Anyone who REALLY believed in the possibility of a 50/40/90 SEASON at that point are just as crazy as the people who voted for Lin in this poll

    History.

Hot streaks have happened countless times in this league.

50/40/90 doesn't just all of a sudden happen to a guy whose career line is 44/34/80

First it was.... "Lin or Harden"?

LOF thoroughly embarrassed themselves during this era. Many were banned, others had to create new accounts. See khyberjones, Nanisteru, yummyhawtsauce, clarinetmonster who are so obsessed with Jeremy, that they can't stay away from here.)

Then it was........ "Lin or Bev"? (The #'s and eye tests were clear.... Benched!)

Next up...... "Can Lin can run the bench better than Canaan?"
    (with predictable poll results)

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Probably his fans' faults though, he lost so much support because of them

Not to compare Lin to Nash, but on your point about history, every player that's reached the 50-40-90 club probably has had most of their other seasons be sub-50-40-90:

    1996-97 - .423, 418, .824
    1997-98 - .459, .415, .860
    1998-99 - .363, .374, .826
    1999-00 - .477, .403, .882
    2000-01 - .487, .406, .895
    2001-02 - .483, .455, .887
    2002-03 - .465, .413, .909
    2003-04 - .470, .405, .916
    2004-05 - .502, .431, .887
    2005-06 - .512, .439, .921
