I would say that the majority of Americans think he is a solid guy. Only Houston knows the real him. Pti did a segment on him when he got called up to Sac. They used the guy in a good image battling his anxiety. She did a good job nationally.

I'm just not sure what she could have done regarding twitter. Obviously he should not have been posting anything (without having it reviewed), and he wasn't smart enough to get that.

I'd have to assume he just ignored the publicist in that regard.

It's hard to believe that anyone would finance Royce White's PR effort to that extent. Horrible judgement on her part. No money up front is stupid, then working beyond 2 or 3 months is even dumber.

The guy had all the tools to at least become the next Carlos Boozer. No way he could even perform that way at the NCAA Div 1 level if he had all that anxiety.

Exactly. I assume she got a client who was out of her league and presented way more challenges than she expected. Royce probably spent whatever money he got from his contracts already. As a professional she should never put herself in a position where she should have to sue her client. She is probably getting screwed over by Royce but a jury will not necessarily believe her. You have to get something up front.

Being a publicist for Royce White must be a tough job, a very tough job.

Gambled on Royce White... and lost! I feel ya, sistah! LOL

She undoubtedly felt he had enough talent to make it into another fat NBA contract... so she kept working for him (with prob nothing better to do...) with the hope that she'd score when he fleeced his next NBA team... aint happenin....

Get in line with all the other people who thought Royce White was worth a damn...

Royce "Human Garbage" White strikes again! When will this guy go away? It takes a lot for me to hate someone but this guy pushes all of my buttons. He will end up in jail at some point guaranteed. Not paying child support, PR agent fees, something. He's going to jail. Book it.

"....China Myers is suing White -- claiming she was hired back in 2012 when he was drafted by the Houston Rockets with a mission to strengthen his image and reputation."

    Resume fail.

I think usually the agent hires the PR people, ie PR answers to & bills the agent.

She is here to keep White in the news instead of keeping him out of it

Sounds like another female got Stockholm syndrome and succumbed to his narcissistic personality disorder. So long as she got out of it 70k down and unencumbered by child I would say she was one of the luckier ones.

That's my impression too. A successful NBA career for White is a big opportunity for a small PR shop to grow. That's worth some risk.

I wouldn't put the blame on her; White is a train-wreck.

On the one hand yes, 18 months is a hell of a long time without payment. On the other hand, that $70k is mostly just her labor and she would not have accrued a lot of variable cost in supplying White with PR. So, her compensation was deferred but she wasn't spending a lot on his behalf. Also, now she has an opportunity to recoup $70k in a lawsuit (if he has any money left); if she had stopped after 3 months of nonpayment, she could sue for maybe $10k. So maybe it's not so dumb to let a client rack up the bills if you have a reasonable chance to recoup in a lawsuit.

Doesn't look like the case here though, otherwise the agency would be named in the suit.
