Good to get these problems out of the way right now and it will allow him to rest overall. No need to rush back. There are enough games for him to get into a rhythm before the playoffs. Asik is more than capable and needs the minutes to get into game shape. This might actually help us a lot.
He is a good player. This is only his fourth season and was able to start only last year. He has a much higher ceiling that Clutch Fans thinks but unfortunately he won't be able to reach it playing under Howard.
I've noticed that Dwight's been a step slower since the POR game. Quite a few boards he could have had, he slowed up. I thought it maybe was the back flaring up a little bit.
Asik needs the minutes to get in better shape. The better he is playing the better we will be, come playoff time. We should be able to take care of the Timberwolves w/o Dwight.
lol. I don't think they actually remove a cyst, but the doctors can drain a cyst because it is a fluid-filled structure.
I'm so glad we still have Asik Still shaky free throw shooter, misses point blank layups but is a great screener and still somehow eaks out 10+ points when starts. He is not a shotblocker but his great position defense lets him rebound the things Dwight doesn't. My dad just came over to my house and whined like a 12 year old who just started watching sports about how he misses point-blank layups. YEAH HE'S UNCOORDINATED WITH THE BALL. WE KNOW. Somehow he's still a great center in spite of that
Cysts attach to vessels and tissue. From the medical incision and procedure on his foot, he'd be out much longer. I learned this from youtube university of medicine cyst popping tutorials.
Asik is a good presence in the paint, and that's about it. If you consider the fact he struggles with aspects of the game as routine as lay ups or catching a pass, I would say his ceiling is higher than a doll house but not as much as an igloo.

They seemed to be ok without him against the Jazz. Granted, the T'Wolves are a far superior opponent, but as long as Asik can actually make a few layups and dunks, their offense should be fine.
to be fair asik has been playing basketball his whole life and still cant finish basic layups. no need to sugar cote the fact he sucks at it, he makes up for it in other ways but layups will always be a minus for him
