I don't either, i think they look terrible on fans. Either way too tight or just like a t shirt. Although our current cut looks pretty bad on anyone who isn't living in 2002. I don't think it's about the ads, honestly i think it's just adidas trying to set themselves apart. They're really pushing it in their college lines and started the sleeve trend there.
Please god just make new jerseys already (or, better yet, bring back the old ones). No sleeves, no new cuts on the same terrible jerseys. Just make new ****ing jerseys. We have the worst ****ing uniforms in sports.
Just curious if this was ever put out officially. It was put on Chron.com and almost immediately pulled down. With quotes directly from Chandler it seems it was ready to be published. Maybe the Rockets wanted to officially announce the new alternate and then make a note of the uniform change.
The chronicle post that mentioned the new alternate and uni alterations was taken down as fast as it was put up, and not mentioned again. That's why I'm asking if it was ever mentioned anywhere again.
I think he's referring to the second part of your post. I haven't heard or read anything official. I guess they didn't want it announced yet because it would hurt sales for the remainder of the season.
Saw this at academy <a href=http://s126.photobucket.com/albums/p88/alancamacho/?action=view¤t=IMAG1413.jpg target=_blank><img src=http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p88/alancamacho/IMAG1413.jpg border=0 alt=></a>
I'm not certain how Adidas pulls this off. With the tank top style of the Rev30's, those large elliptical shoulder stripes on the current road/home set may have to be ditched. I don't see them fitting on the shorter-cut tank top jersey in the stripes current large size. And if the shoulder stripes are shrunk to fit the shorter-cut tank top, it could look awkward. With this in mind, I could foresee the new home/road sets simply being re-colored red/silver versions of the current alternates. As for the Alternates - I think we'll see a red/yellow re-color of the Christmas Day alternate because you know ...Adidas & the NBA love to re-color/rehash everything. As a side note - the Christmas Day alt was essentially Eiko Ishioka's original plan for the current Rockets home/road uni's when she designed them in 2002 (for 2003 season). They were supposed to feature the "R" logo only on the front of the jersey (Michigan & UNC had done this too) but the NBA at that time nixed the idea, thus the "R" logo moved to the shorts. 10 years later, the NBA is using jersey's with just a logo on the front ...the very idea they initially nixed lol
NBA needs to get Nike as the official partners. They are the ones who created the jerseys for Lakers, Mavs, Pistons, Raptors, Heat that designs are stil being usedused today. The cuts on those jersey are perfect.
You would think Leslie Alexander understands what an amazing opportunity he has here, especially with Dwight here and after years of being the laughing stock of the NBA (always in top 10 of ugly uniforms etc.), to change the whole thing.
Seems unusual to me for Adidas to go out of their way to create another "logo" for the team.....is that also happening with other teams? You'd think the team and the league would want the current logo featured and not minimized as only a part of this one on the shirt. Could this actually be the team's idea and their way of trying to see if this logo becomes popular and widely accepted?
