except we didn't ask him to do that, I doubt Adelman said to him hey Trevor you have the green light to shoot now and dribble and make plays. He thought he needed to do that to prove his worth or whatnot, but obviously failed miserably.

Except we did. It was widely accepted that we were allowing Ariza to make plays. This was asked of him, but he wasn't that type of guy. Not on him. I followed every game that season, and Bill Worrell even mentioned that. Where were you?

Ariza never shot better than .365 as a 3pt shooter until this season. His career average is .350 which is average for a wing player.

I don't get the contract year thing. If he suddenly played hard, then I could understand. But you don't become a better shooter by just playing harder. Shooting is not about effort. And you don't just suddenly become a great shooter at the age of 29.

It is more likely that it's just a fluke season for him. Maybe he's just a lucky dude. He got a big contract because he hit a bunch of clutch 3s with the Lakers in the playoffs. Those turned out to be fluke too.

It was not widely accepted that as you can tell by most people disagreeing with you. We didn't pay him MLE for him to try to be Kobe. He was asked to take on more offensive ability than when he was on the Lakers, but not to the level of the main option. He chose to take bad shots and dribble too much.

Usage% as mentioned before said so. I don't know where you were that season, but we ran a really balanced offense without Yao under Adelman, there wasn't supose to be a main play maker.

Ariza was more brought it for defense and slashing to complement Yao Ming, who was suppose to come back the next season. He was suppose to be the next Artest, not Tmac.

    DING DING DING!!!

This is just another classic case of having a great season your contract ending year. He'll get signed this off season and then turn to garbage until his next contract. Looking at you OJ Mayo
