RGV VIPERS TRADE TIM OHLBRECHT MCALLEN, Texas, March 1, 2014 –Rio Grande Valley Vipers General Manager Gianluca Pascucci announced today that the team has traded center Tim Ohlbrecht to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. RGV will receive Fort Wayne’s 2014 first round draft pick. “We would like to thank Tim for everything he has done with us in the past two years. He was a key member of our 2013 Championship run. We wish him luck, and he will always remain a member of the Vipers family,” Pascucci said.
Don't mind the trade at all, hopefully it can end in us getting anouther decent prospect pick like the into james Johnson trade did. But man the vipers are getting destroyed this year losing so many players Also weird to note this pick won't be great as forte Wayne is currently the 4th best team in the dleague out of 16 teams
17! I wonder if this will open up some time for Kenny Kadji. He's been putting up some decent numbers. Although Tim had also finally gotten accustomed to putting up points in this run and gun offense, too. The only problem is that this team can't stop anybody on defense. They can put up 100-120 and still lose by double-digits on any given night.
Interesting the way the dleague draft works, I never really noticed this The NBA D-League Draft occurs each season and is the major source from which teams build their rosters. Team rosters are made up of returning players (players who were on the team during the previous season), allocated players (players who have local significance), and drafted players. The 8 round draft utilizes a "serpentine" format, meaning the order alternates in each round; Team A who selected first in Round 1 will select last in Round 2, while Team B who selected last in Round 1 will get the first pick in Round 2, etc.
