Yep. What Lin needs is more adversity to improve his game because he hasn't dealt with that enough.

How can the poison pill contract come back to bite the Rox when they wouldn't have Lin and Asik in the first place if they hadn't done that? Sure trading either Lin or Asik is harder due to the poison pill, but we got them for free at the end of the day, any asset we get in return whether it's just a 2nd rounder or an expiring is still an asset we wouldn't have gotten if we hadn't offered that poison pill. In the scenario wherein we're "forced" to keep both of them on the roster, their contract expires at the same year that a lot of good players become Free Agents so that still puts us in a good spot to sign someone better.

It would be ironic and insanity indeed if Lin ended up back in NY after all that has happened.

just be glad Lin is deferring... and being a team player

if you are so worried about how much he is getting paid... then you should be complaining about how he is being used

he could be pouting and demanding a trade right now along with Asik and Dmo

    or faking injuries

They would have no qualms of making a bee-line to his new team. What a bunch of buffoons and ghouls that crawl around here. The fact that you're agonizing over some internet Lin fan personas is just mystifying to me - don't you people have lives?

May the legend of Jeremy Lin live forever. And ever. And ever. And ever. Especially for those of you who somehow have doggy-trained themselves to hate on internet personas - I hope the spectre of 'Jeremy' haunts your asses for a lifetime. LOL. absolutely hilarious.

Only 9 minutes of PT for Lin through 3 qtrs tonight against the Lakers. Is that a sign that something is brewing on the trade front? He averages around 30 min a game.

Tim Hardway Jr. is Tim Hardaway's son, not Penny's. If it was Penny Hardaway's son, it would be Penny (Anfernee) Haradway Jr.

Sources have claimed it is in fact Penny Hardaway's son and that Tim is the step father. Carl Herreara has inside info on these matters.

Sorry, that is a piss poor judge of Dolan's character.

    (1) Dolan is NOT the loyal type. He's a petty chieftain who runs a patronage system where he demands absolutely loyalty of a craven sort, while if you cross him in the slightest, even if it is merely perceived (as in Lin's case may be) and your FIRST OFFENSE, he goes after you with full ferocity.

    (2) The Knicks have no problem absorbing both Asik and Lin's balloon payments. If the two players help the Knicks make the playoffs this year (which they would), I am pretty sure Cablevision will earn back more than enough revenue from ticket sales and TV commercial sales from just ONE SERIES - a first round exit - to offset those salary costs. New York is the biggest media market and has vastly different internal financials from say, Oklahoma.

Here's a cool little way for the Knicks to get Lin:

Knicks send Felton and Jeremy Tyler to Philly, Udrih to Wizards, Shumpert to us.

We send Lin and Brewer to Knicks, the rest of our cash ($1.48 mil) and the Knicks 2014 second rounder to Philly. Philly either drops a minimum salary player or sends a minimum salary player back to Knicks.

Philly then buys out Felton's last 2 years for nothing. We then sign Felton into our cap space (~$4.8 million guaranteed this year and small to no gaurantee next year) to make up for his buyout. That contract plus 2 years at the minimum is the same thing that he has coming to him.

We still have our Room MLE left at the end of this transaction to add one more piece. This gets us off the hook for Lin's contract, gets us a decent wing player on a rookie deal and a nice contract (Felton) that can be traded or dropped after the season.

Philly gets a look-see at Tyler plus the nice Knicks second rounder.

    Knicks get their man, Lin.

This deal would also work with Artest going to Philly and accepting a buyout of his second year. We then sign him with our Room MLE to make up those dollars.
