Why would the Rondo deal need a 3rd team? Most of the talked about proposals would be either Hou - Bos straight up or Hou completing a second trade with a second team (Not many correct true 3 teamers being discussed).

I hate to be Debbie Downer, but I just don't see this happening.

I think this is overblown. If defenders sag off of him, they give him more space to either pass, drive, or shoot, which he's proved to be proficient at. If he's trying to get the ball to Dwight in the post, and his defender sags into Dwights lap, all he has to do is drive right at his defender and Dwight effectively sets a screen to get him an open drive into the paint, which is where he would be most effective. If anybody helps, he can make the pass, and if nobody helps, he has a wide open layup.

A rondo trade will only be official once jtr acknowledges that it has happened. Which will require him sleeping with a Rondo family member and dinner with Daryl Morey, for confirmation.

I agree. And if it does I will be a little disappointed. The deal won't be done without CP25 being involved, you can't lose the glue to this team.

I wonder if the Morey could get a team like Philly to take on Wallace's contract for a 1st round pick. Might allow us to keep parsons.

Do the celtics want green for 3yr/$9m or parsons for 4-5yr/$10-$12m

Rondo wants to be in Houston. That's good to hear.

I tend to think that a deal for Rondo won't get done. I'm sure the Rockets want him, but Boston's asking price is likely too high and the Rockets won't do anything that could hamper their 2015 flexibility (that limits the type of offers they will find acceptable).

And let's be honest here....Rondo is good, a top 30 player even.....but he's not someone you sell the farm for. He's somewhere in the neighborhood of Josh Smith to me.

Not a downer, I'll be glad to keep the team intact as is. I want to see what these guys can do with more time. With that said, I wouldn't mind a trade if it involves players outside of the core.

Someone to replace Parsons. No way Morey does it with that huge hole as we are in win now mode. Actually, Morey wouldn't deal Parsons to begin with but for this hypothetical scenario to take place we would need another player.

Would it be anything new or just stuff we already knew from cyberx and your posts? The Deng connection with the Rockets hasn't been public but both of you have mentioned it as a secondary component to a potential Rondo deal.

I think he's much better than Josh Smith. His value is likely on par with a Chris Bosh.
