@WojYahooNBA: Y! Sources: The Detroit Pistons fired coach Mo Cheeks. http://t.co/gAomhGGpTU m.twitter.com/WojYahooNBA @WojYahooNBA: No interim coach has been appointed with Detroit, but assistant John Loyer is expected to be frontrunner, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
@WojYahooNBA: Owner Tom Gores had become increasingly impatient with Cheeks and young Pistons team, league sources told Yahoo. He had pushed for change.
Mo Cheeks has been terrible on handling the Greg Monroe situation. He deserved to be fired a few weeks ago. That said strange they waited until after a win to do it.

LOL
Dumars goes and grabs a point guard thats shooting 38% from the field/bad defender and and spends a huge contract on a guy that needs to play PF to be effective (who I might add is shooting 42%) and expects winning results?
The Pistons' problems go beyond coaching, but Cheeks was one of the very worst coaches in the league and a terrible hire from day 1, so I have no issue with the Pistons firing him. Great guy by all accounts, though.
That delusional owner should fire Dumars for ruining the Franchise with his pathetic decisions. Felt like they were set for a great future with Knight-Monroe-Drummond and a possibly high pick. Then Dumars goes nuts and is responsible for one of the most idiotic FA signings in recent years. Pistons owner should've intervened right at the time when he heard about Dumars trying to sign Smith and Jennings. Firing Cheeks now is a poor way to distract people from seeing who's really responsible for this mess.
Yeah, screw Dumars. Josh smith was ours and we could have traded asik for him and got him for much less than what Detroit offered him to sign there. I still can't believe they gave him the max. Why did they think he was worth that kind of money? Because Morey was interested in him?
My question is why would the pistons hire cheeks in the first place? I never thought he would last long on that long.
Cheeks is a great guy but not a great coach. Still blaming him for this poorly constructed roster not doing well is a CYA move by Dumars. I wonder if this current team is the one that will finally get him fired.

Wow, Lionel Hollins's agent is WORKING the phone lines right now. Any source you can think of is probably getting called by Lionel's agent at this moment.
I don't care how bad of a coach someone is, firing them 4 months into their first full season as a head coach of your team is pretty low. Especially after a win.
