A lot of gloating and trolling on this board. Lin hasn't done enough to take the starting job away. AB warms the bench.
Brooks' time at rotation has to be a 2-guard if everyone is healthy. Looked yesterday, in 3rd Q, Rockets were cooking with Lin at PG, Brooks at 2G, Garica/Casspi/Smith front courts. Brooks was motivated and moved to hit the open three. He is not a PG and he plays the position due to his size. I think the ideal rotation would be: Harden (Has ball, or whatever) + Bev (Defense, shoot 3) = 25 min - 30 min Harden (2G) + Lin (PG) = 10 min to 15 min Lin (PG) + Brooks (2G) = 10 min to 15 min
I think Pat will be on the bench for a few games at least to get his rhythm back but then Lin will go to the bench.
As long as Mchale is coach, this is true. Lin would have to play like an all star every game to have a chance.

Lin will be needed to boost the bench. The real question is if when the bench gets upgrade due to Omer trading, will Lin be allowed to start again? By then Lin might also be traded and Bev most likely will go back to the bench due to another pg.
Well Bev showed he was't starting PG material with his play this season, ranking amongst the lowest of all starting PGs in the league and a PER of a D-Leaguer. Lets hope he improves his game when he comes back.
He needs to start. He got off to a slow start this year, but he will get back to his normal effectiveness, and we desperately need Jeremy off the bench.
I think they will ease him back off the bench so he can regain his conditioning. The end result will be him starting though.
This is what I don't understand. People go on and on and on comparing the individual stats of the 2 as if that is what people are basing their opinion on, when the point most people are making is that the TEAM stats so far have shown Bev along with the starting 4 has been more effective. I have seen a few people post the numbers, but they just continue to be ignored. Why is that?
Because the stats are of little value. To put it in a simple way, Dwight plays well because he plays well, not because he plays with Beverley. Same thing with Harden.
he will get his bench roll back. the other experiment of ISO 2 stars is busted following the twin tower. Dwright and Harden must attack in the flow or they will kill the ball movement and team rhythm. Bev is better fit, unfortunately, for their ISO and killing the rhythm. Harden's instinct is scoring, he cant play PG and bring the team in rhythm, they tried him and failed. Hence this team need a normal PG to organize plays just like other teams, if this team want a deep run in playoffs. there is no secret, a lot of screens, a lot of movement, that's modern basketball. superstar ISO is only good to go to when all of your plays are dead, and it should be the desperate measurement when you are really, desperate. for offense always one step ahead of defense, there is always something to exploit, if your plays doesnt go well it doesnt mean running plays are worse than ISOs, it's the plays are not properly drawn or executed. having a traditional PG to translate the plays from the coach and run it on court is essential, so keeping Lin on starter is a nobrainer.
