Seems like a typical Todd mcwhay overhype. He always picks a QB who sucks and proclaims him an elite talent

Has not shown he can make NFL throws. No way in hell he goes anywhere near No 1. I could see a team reaching for him and regretting it like Gabbert.

Maybe the hype came from people who overvalue physical traits. Bridgewater has a slender frame and Manziel is short. Of the people mentioned as potential 1st round QBs, Bortles has the most prototypical NFL QB size and build, so some will give him bonus points.

That was a Kubiak play. He should go battlefight for Gary.

Texans were never taking Bortles. If the Texans are not offered an RGIII type haul they are taking Bridgewater because he is disciplined, accurate, will not deviate from play call, reads the field very well and is a student of the game.

I chuckle at complaints about Bridgewater's body or that he plays for Louisville or doesn't run a 4.3 40... He sees the field extremely well, is an accurate strong armed passer, is poised and doesn't make mistakes and loves watching tape... Basically everything you want from a QB... Looking good in shorts and 4.3 40's are for the Gabberts and Vick's of the world.

don't remember the first one, but the second one he exhibited strong intelligence by recognizing the blitz and getting it to the guy with the favorable one-on-one matchup.

intelligence is critical for a good qb

I don't believe it's this much of a slam dunk. One ESPN list had Bridgewater as the #9 overall prospect. He's not rated as high as some of the QBs in recent drafts. The opportunity cost of passing on guys like Clowney or Matthews is nothing to sneeze at.

He's aware. He's so dug-in that he's resorted to trolling (again). Best to ignore.

Do you disagree that he made a quality read on his 2nd TD? You think Schaub would have made that call? lol

    give the man some credit

He doesn't have the physical gifts that some previous QB's like RGIII have... But he sees the field at an elite level and has a strong accurate arm and is coachable... He has what you ultimately want. If we stay at #1 I cannot see us going another direction.

Bortles with a 15 yard rushing TD.

Closing in on 100 yards rushing for the game

Bortles has looked way more impressive running than throwing tonight.

Not good for his draft stock, but good for UCF.

We need a QB not a RB.
